(3/4/2015) - John Michael Coppola, who appeared in Chicago's smash hit production of JERSEY BOYS, will headline A JERSEY VOICE: Sinatra to Springsteen…and Everyone in Between on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 7:30 pm at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell St. in Arlington Heights. The one night only concert event will also star THE FOUR C NOTES, the Midwest's only Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons tribute group. The song-filled evening will benefit Arlington Cares, a not-for-profit organization created to help raise money for the Village of Arlington Heights Emergency Assistance Fund. Tickets, priced at $40, are currently available at www.arlingtoncaresnfp.org.

(3/4/2015) - Award-winning Canadian actress Chilina Kennedy, who made her Broadway debut as 'Mary Magdalene' in Jesus Christ Superstar, has nabbed the title role in Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, the smash hit musical about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter. Kennedy begins performances on March 7, 2015, succeeding Tony Award-winner Jessie Mueller, who will play her final performance in Beautiful on March 6 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). (3/4/2015) - Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil & Schonberg's Les Miserables just welcomed several new cast members for its second year on Broadway last night, March 3 at The Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Joining the cast are Tony and Oliver Award nominee Gavin Lee (Mary Poppins) as Thenardier, Erika Henningsen as Fantine, Rachel Izen as Madame Thenardier, Brennyn Lark as Eponine, Chris McCarrell as Marius and Wallace Smith as Enjolras. Tony Award nominee Ramin Karimloo will perform as Jean Valjean through the end of the summer; Will Swenson, as Javert, and Samantha Hill, as Cosette, will continue in their roles as well. (3/4/2015) - The Heart of Things by Giles Cole runs at Jermyn Street Theatre from 10 March to 4 April. Nick Waring (The Three Musketeers, Hay Fever, The Trials of Oscar Wilde , Star Quality) plays the lead role of disillusioned English teacher, Peter Calder, and says it was the writing that drew him to the play. 'The Heart of Things has many beautiful and delicate shades of grey', he says and then, with a laugh, adds, 'but not 50. It's definitely got more than 50. At my stage of life, I understand it more than I care to admit. The play explores how to be happy through the disappointment of middle age'.

(3/3/2015) - ABUNDANCE, the 1990 play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart), is an epic tale of friendship set against the backdrop of the sweeping American West. Abundance is directed by TACT Co-Artistic Director Jenn Thompson, who directed last season's production of William Inge's Natural Affection. Performances began at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on February 17, and the production opened last weekend on March 1. (3/3/2015) - Toronto theatre-fans had a real treat last night when Rebecca Caine, the original Christine in Toronto's record-setting run of The Phantom of the Opera (1989-1999), visited SINGular Sensation at Statlers (487 Church St.) to perform a few songs and take in the local talent. Caine is also known for originating the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, as well as her many opera credits. Caine is also the winner for the 2014 BroadwayWorld Toronto Award for Best Cabaret Performance or Solo Concert.

Erin Davie, Emily Padgett, Ryan Silverman, Matthew Hydzik, David St. Louis, and members of the ensemble perform favorites from the show, a couple songs which were cut out of town, and material which won't be heard on the Original Cast Recording. Scott Weinstein makes his Marriott Theatre directorial debut, joined by Musical Director Ryan T. Nelson, with a modern spin on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. An imaginative story for all ages, THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA is a celebration of everlasting love and staying true to oneself no matter what the circumstances. A Question & Answer session with the cast will follow the one-hour presentation.

(3/3/2015) - Roundabout Theatre Company presented its annual 2015 Spring Gala 'There is Nothing Like a Dame' last night, March 2, 2015 in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria (301 Park Avenue, NYC). The evening was a celebration of Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Helen Mirren, who was presented with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre. The tribute featured appearances by Jennifer Garner & Alessandro Nivola and performances by Laura Benanti,Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Santino Fontana, Victor Garber, Donna Murphy, Kelli O'Hara,Alessandro Nivola,Laura Osnes and Betsy Wolfe.
