(2/13/2016) - THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY's and second show of its 2015-2016 - 25th Anniversary Season, the West Coast Premiere of BROKEN FENCES, written by Steven Simoncic and directed by Andre Barron has begun performances at the Road Theatre Company's second home, the Road on Magnolia, located in the NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.  BROKEN FENCES began previews on Tuesday, February 9 at 8pm and opened on Friday, February 12 at 8pm. It will run through Sunday, April 3rd.

(2/12/2016) - American Conservatory Theater continues its 2015-16 season with The Unfortunates (February 3-April 10, 2016), a darkly comic musical that uses a unique mix of early 20th century American blues and gospel stylings fused with modern and syncopated rhythms to transport audiences to a world of memory and mythmaking. Inspired by the classic and mysterious blues song, "St. James Infirmary," made famous in the 1920s by Louis Armstrong, The Unfortunates tells the story of Big Joe, a stalwart, tough-talking soldier cursed with oversized hands, who journeys through a dream world in which he confronts a series of enemies and risks everything to save his armless love, Rae, from the plague that has decimated all but a handful of survivors. The search for salvation is marked by the characters' willingness to make music in the face of loss, and search for love in a time of desperation. (2/12/2016) - Strawdog Theatre Company and Artistic Director Hank Boland are proud to announce the third main stage production in its 2015 - 2016 season, Lauren Yee's In A Word, February 5 - March 19, directed by Jess McLeod, at Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 N. Broadway St. Previews are Friday, Feb. 5 and 12, Saturday, Feb. 6 and 13 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7 and 14 at 4 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Monday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. The regular performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. An industry performance is Monday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. and a fully accessible performance in conjunction with the Access Project at Victory Gardens is Thursday, March 3 at 8 p.m.* Preview tickets are $15, regular run tickets are $28 and on sale now. Bill Dawes portrays Russian defector and star of ballet and screen, Rudolf Nureyev; William Connell plays painter Jamie Wyeth, the son of famed artist Andrew Wyeth and grandson of illustrator N.C.
