(8/3/2015) - Two mainstage shows gone.  Even with weeks of fully well lived days, if I blink my eye then the summer will be completely over.  This really occurred to me this past weekend when the curtain came down on our Fantastical Family Night Concert.  That event not only marked the end of our second (out of four) scheduled Broadway Under the Stars concert series, but it also was the end of a very special week working with over 50 students at our Transcendence Kid's Camp.  Major kudos go out to all of the performers hired on the Fantastical Family Night contract.  These performers do the most work in the shortest amount of time in the season.  But honestly, I think it's also the most rewarding show too.

(8/3/2015) - The farcical yet message-loaded 'Hairspray' is the type of musical that in a bad production falls flat, but in a good production leaves the audience energized and dancing in the aisles. Fortunately the must see production at Porthouse Theatre is dynamic, creative, full of joy!

BWW Review: Could THE PORCINI TEST Be The Best Way to Define Your Relationship? PhotosBWW Review: Could THE PORCINI TEST Be The Best Way to Define Your Relationship?
by Shari Barrett

(8/2/2015) - In our modern dating world, there is no real way to know when a relationship has the potential to last longer than a one night stand. In THE PORCINI TEST, a contemporary play written and directed by Laureen Vonnegut, three long-time friends with hidden truths and concealed weapons banter back and forth over drinks about the merits of men, many of whom they have shared, finally deciding the best way to sift through them is to give each the Porcini test, basically asking if they know how to correctly pronounce the Italian fungi properly. If so, you're in. If not, so long!

(8/1/2015) - As one glorious concert ends, another rehearsal process has begun in full swing! Our cast of 'Fantastical Family Fun Night' has been at it rehearsing all week! This show has some goodies in it such as a fantastic tap routine to Step in Time, a groovy Jackson Five Medley, and I get to sing some Disney! Heaven! The arrangement is 'When you Wish Upon a Star' as a quartet which I think will be so beautiful under the stars in Jack London State Park. I also love the chance to have an excuse to sing to the stars and make my own wishes for things to come. When is the last time you wished on a star? In New York City, you never see any stars. Sonoma's night skies glitter nightly.
