The Icon & Creator Tribute was created for this year’s Gotham Awards in order to recognize cultural icons and the filmmakers responsible for bringing that icon’s story to life. With the Global Icon & Creator Tribute, The Gotham will honor and celebrate the creative team behind Greta Gerwig’s innovative and imaginative Barbie.

Halle Bailey has co-written a new song for the upcoming movie musical adaptation of The Color Purple. The song, titled 'Keep It Movin',' is sung by Bailey as Nettie in the film, along with Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, who plays young Celie. The Little Mermaid star worked on the song with Denisia Andrews, Brittany Coney and Morten Ristorp.

Blu also plays bass on the track, which she produced with John Hill and Sam Homaee. Blu and Mallrat wrote “Cut Me Down” with Hill, Homaee and Amy Allen.

Pippa Scott has released her own Jazz infused version of the Mark Ronson / Amy Winehouse track 'Valerie.' Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, from her upbringing in Vancouver, to her youth in Manchester, UK, to her mental health struggles with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder).

“Diamond Therapy,” featuring rapper, singer and producer Channel Tres, has been released via Diplo’s own Higher Ground imprint. Following his country album Diplo Present Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2—Swamp Savant from earlier this year, Diplo’s focus returns to his house music imprint Higher Ground with “Diamond Therapy.”

The collaboration showcases a twist on Purple Disco Machine’s signature style, leaning into electronic indie pop with shimmering synth textures, an electro bassline, and Nothing But Thieves’ unmistakable sound. The unique blend of genres is further enhanced with production by Nothing But Thieves’ Dom Craik and chart-topping producer Duke Dumont.

They canvased the globe on sold out tours with Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, and One Direction and joined Tiësto for the banger ‘Let’s Go’ in 2014.
