O QUEBRA-NOZES (The Nutcracker) Brings Holiday Magic to São Paulo’s Teatro Liberdade by Claudio Erlichman
- November 06, 2025 Tchaikovsky's Christmas classic comes to life on the stage of Teatro Liberdade on November 17th and 18th with the Saint Petersburg Classical Ballet. Directed by Kirill Safin, the production features Alexander Volchkov (Moscow Bolshoi) and Maria Tomilova (Grigorovich Ballet), accompanied by 24 Russian and Ukrainian dancers. More than a ballet, it is a celebration of the imagination, innocence, and beauty of the classic.

- November 06, 2025 San Diego Opera opened its 2025-26 season on a Halloween night with an appropriately disturbing opera about a murderous clown. Its unsavory plot hasn’t kept Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci from becoming one of opera’s most popular creations. The reasons for its success? A can’t-wait-for-it tenor aria, lushly romantic melodies, Puccini-worthy orchestration and a winning mix of operatic voices atop that horror movie plot.
