Kentucky Center [Whitney Hall] History

A 2,377-seat, multipurpose concert facility, Whitney Hall can accommodate everything from the most elaborate touring Broadway extravaganzas to the more modest requirements of a chamber music ensemble. Named for the eminent former conductor of the Louisville Orchestra, this theater has exemplary acoustics, comfortable seats and generally uninterrupted sight lines to ensure that every patron enjoys their theatrical experience to the fullest. Local arts organizations currently utilizing Whitney Hall include PNC Broadway in Louisville, Louisville Ballet, Louisville Orchestra, and our Kentucky Performing Arts Presents programming. Robert S. Whitney Hall is a union-house, has an extensive technical inventory, and a three-tiered rate schedule, not inclusive of theater services such as ticketing and house management.

Kentucky Performing Arts Kicks Off New Season With JAGGED LITTLE PILL North American Tour

Kentucky Performing Arts, working in partnership with PNC Broadway in Louisville, is kicking off the 2022-2023 KPA Presents season with a big first: the premiere performances of the North American national tour of the hit Broadway show Jagged Little Pill.  The touring show debuts in Louisville on August 31 and September 1 after a month of rehearsals, set construction, and production tasks took place at The Kentucky Center. After the first two initial Louisville performances, Jagged Little Pill will hit the road for a national tour.

Winners have been announced for the unique Musical Inspirations Art Contest, hosted by The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts and Louisville Orchestra. The selected winners' pieces will make their public debut at the Gheens Foundation Great Expectations concert on February 7. The prizewinning art work will be projected onto large screens while the Louisville Orchestra and the Louisville Youth Orchestra combine forces to perform the music that inspired their art: the complete Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky.
