Audible Inc., the world's largest producer and provider of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken-word entertainment, will begin performances this week of Is Anyone Alive Out There?, an original comedy musical at the Minetta Lane Theatre, which will also be recorded live for release as an Audible Original. The post-apocalyptic-set farce will run for four nights from March 21-24 at the company's creative home for live performances in New York. Each of the four performances will feature a surprise special guest appearance from either Chris Gethard (The Chris Gethard Show), Gilbert Gottfried (Gilbert), or Helene Yorke (The Other Two). It's always fun to see the dynamic of two Broadway superstars interacting as themselves onstage instead of a character. This show ranks pretty high for me. The setlist had a high number of songs from two of my favorite musicals - Waitress and The Last Five Years, and included a number of hits from her career along with the compellingly interesting and original numbers she brought to the stage. BWW Interview: Erica Clare of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the first publicly performed collaboration between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, first appeared on Broadway in 1982. The musical actually began its life as a short pop cantata in London, and it was modified and expanded a number of times before it appeared on Broadway. The musical is based on the story of Joseph from the Book of Genesis. In the musical, the story about Joseph is told by the Narrator, a character who exists outside the time and place in which the story takes place. It's the Narrator's job to engage the audience and draw them into the story of Joseph. Broadway World recently spoke to Erica Clare, who portrays the Narrator in the upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre. (more...)

Clara Mae Returns With New Single 'Lost'
