The Old Globe is expanding San Diego's celebration of the holidays with a world premiere American musical about family, faith, and the magic of Christmas. The Globe is delighted to announce the complete cast and creative team for Looking for Christmas, the new Clint Black Christmas musical, inspired by the country music legend's 1995 chart-topping holiday album. With music and lyrics by Clint Black, book by James D. Sasser with Black, based on an idea by Sasser and Black, music supervision and music direction by Matt Hinkley, and directed by Kent Nicholson, Looking for Christmas is currently running through December 16, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. As previously reported by BroadwayWorld, the cast of HAMILTON's three-week long engagement in Puerto Rico will launch a third national tour of the musical phenomenon. The show's creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda will play the title character in Puerto Rico, with Julius Thomas III (The Scottsboro Boys, Motown the Musical) taking over at the tour's next stop in San Francisco. A private, invitation only industry reading of the new musical Mandela will be held on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, 2019. Mandela has music and lyrics by two South African composer/lyricists signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Greg Dean Borowsky and Shaun Borowsky, with a book by Laiona Michelle (Little Girl Blue: The Nina Simone Musical). This reading is directed by Schele Williams (Rent, Motown: The Musical), with music direction by Alvin Hough, Jr. (Once On This Island). Fifth Estate Entertainment (Nathan Gehan/Jamison Scott) serves as general manager for the reading. The reading will be attended by Nandi Mandela, Nelson Mandela's granddaughter, on behalf of the Mandela family who have officially partnered with the show. (more...)

West End Production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL in its Final Ten Weeks

Motown the Musical will conclude its run on 20 April 2019 having celebrated over 1330 performances since its London premiere in February 2016. The show received its world premiere in April 2013 in New York and opened in the West End three years later.
