BIO
Matt was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in a northwest suburb called Northbrook.
From a young age, he had a flair for the dramatic and was known to put on living room performances of his favorite Disney movies for anyone who walked in the house. He started performing in children’s theater, landing coveted roles like Peter Pan, Harold Hill, Nathan Detroit, and Tevye (who was missing his two front teeth.) Matt also played ice hockey for the Northbrook Bluehawks until he was 15 years old.
Matt attended Glenbrook North High School where he was a proud choir geek and theater kid.
From the ages of 10 to 22, Matt spent his summers at Camp Timberlane for Boys where he learned how to play guitar, and waterski, and lose his voice from screaming during all-camp competitions.
Matt is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory where he earned a BFA in Musical Theater with an emphasis in Acting and Songwriting.
Since moving to New York City almost 10 years ago, Matt has continued to forge his own path, utilizing all of his self-taught creative skills. In addition to acting, Matt has worked as a cinematographer, editor, director, content producer, social media manager, graphic designer, animator, photographer, event planner, and Bar Mitzvah crasher.
As a songwriter, Matt plays gigs throughout New York City, sharing his original music and stories - attempting to conjure collective effervescence wherever he goes.
He currently lives in Manhattan with his husband Sam and their perfect dog, Penny.
