BIO

KENNETH FERRONE is a Director and Emmy-Nominated Producer with credits encompassing Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theater, Television and Film. For the stage, Kenneth directed the Broadway-bound musical, THE WANDERER, based on the life of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist, Dion DiMucci, which premiered at Paper Mill Playhouse in Spring 2022. He directed the 1st National Tour of CRUEL INTENTIONS: THE 90’S MUSICAL as well as Stellar’s live-streamed production from the Bourbon Room in Hollywood. Kenneth collaborated with Jerry Seinfeld and Colin Quinn to create COLIN QUINN: THE NEW YORK STORY, which was named a 2015 “Critic’s Pick” by the New York Times and was filmed for Netflix. Off-Broadway, he directed the world premiere play, WHEN BLOOD RAN RED (National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene), LUCY POHL: HI HITLER (Cherry Lane), and SISTAS (St Lukes Theatre; Off-Broadway Alliance & Audelco Noms), which was produced for TV by RLJ Entertainment and aired on BET. Kenneth recently directed the workshop production of new musical, BORN COUNTRY, and is currently developing a new musical based on the South Korean work, CRAZY BREAD. As Associate Director, he has worked with Tina Landau, Scott Ellis, Terry Kinney, and Gregory Mosher. Credits include the 12-Time Tony Nominated Broadway musical, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS, including the 1st National Tour and prime-time cable broadcast on Nickelodeon, the Broadway Revival of LOVE LETTERS starring Brian Dennehy and Mia Farrow, the Broadway musical, WONDERLAND, the Tom Kitt and Nell Benjamin musical, DAVE (Arena Stage), Tarrell McCraney’s HEAD OF PASSES (Mark Taper Forum); Maltby & Shire’s WATERFALL (Pasadena Playhouse & The 5th Ave); Zack Zadek’s DEATHLESS (Goodspeed); and the a-cappella musical, IN TRANSIT (Primary Stages). For the screen, Kenneth produced the live broadcast specials: GREASE LIVE! (10 Emmy nominations; 5 wins, including “Best Special Class Program,”) RENT on Fox (5 Emmy Noms.) and ANNIE LIVE! on NBC. He Produced the musical television series, RISE, as well as two seasons of SMASH on NBC. Additional TV credits include drama series, DECEPTION and IRONSIDE, as well as the upcoming APPLE+ action series, ECHO 3.
