Review: LIE LOW at Solas Nua by Rachael F. Goldberg
- November 12, 2025 'Lie Low' leans into the dark absurdity of life and the things that go wrong. Smyth’s script and the Solas Nua team show a thoughtful understanding of humanity in their work, and connect with audiences with that authenticity – and a few cheeky jokes.
Photos: First look at MVAC & Knox Memorial’s A FEW GOOD MEN by Jerri Shafer
- November 12, 2025 Set in 1986, this gripping stage drama shifts between Guantanamo Bay and a Washington, DC courtroom, exploring a crime that tests honor, duty, and truth. When PFC William Santiago, seen as a “weak link,” dies due to actions by fellow Marines, Dawson and Downey insist it was a hazing incident ordered by a superior—who denies any such command.

Review: THE FAR SIDE OF THE MOON at Canadian Stage by Ilana Lucas
- November 12, 2025 “Since we surveyed, mapped, explored, and planted a flag,” writes Robert Lepage in his director’s note to THE FAR SIDE OF THE MOON, “our interest in the moon seems to have greatly diminished.” Lepage, however, believes that, while it may no longer be as much of an enigma, the moon will never lose its poetic appeal.
Review: COVEN, Kiln Theatre by Cindy Marcolina
- November 12, 2025 Directed by Miranda Cromwell, it’s a mixed bag: invigorating and galvanising on one hand, sermonic and overly explanatory on the other. Exquisite performances deliver generally mid songs that have a tendency to come up short on poetic narrative, but overdo it on the clichés. A more decisive tonal approach might have made the message hit harder. The continuous reiteration of the piece’s political beliefs and the doubling down on its feminist slant by telling rather than showing us slows the show down dramatically and narratively.

Review: BARRIER(S), Camden People's Theatre by Clementine Scott
- November 12, 2025 There’s something of Heartstopper to the design of Barrier(s), pastel sketches of suburban living rooms and nervous texts to a crush etched out lovingly on the projector. On this occasion, though, those charmingly awkward texts have a practical function as well as an aesthetic one, because Barrier(s) is performed mostly in British Sign Language.
