Review: DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at Bass Concert Hall
by Sabrina Wallace - Dec 4, 2025

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at Bass Concert Hall dazzles with flawless tech, lush visuals, and choreography that hits like a burst of joy. The cast shines, the magic lands, and the nostalgia is real. Just be ready to chat with your kids about the story’s dated messaging. Spectacle soars, but the morals need a closer look.

I think it's a power that people bring into the room whenever they see the show. They bring memories of watching WHITE CHRISTMAS with their families growing up. They bring memories of singing the songs in the choir. And I think all those things help invigorate the show.

Review: COME FROM AWAY at The Seattle Rep
by Jay Irwin - Dec 4, 2025

Dear Readers, back in 2015 we were blessed with the masterpiece that is “Come From Away” by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. It had one of its pre-broadway tryouts at The Seattle Rep and was a huge hit and personally, absolutely wrecked me emotionally. Now 10 years later this brilliant show is back at the Rep but with a local production as opposed to the Broadway or touring staging. And while the show still wrecked me and made me leave with a soaked handkerchief, there were some elements that gave me pause. We’ll get to those.

Review: ELF THE MUSICAL at Broadway In Chicago
by Rachel Weinberg - Dec 4, 2025

Thanks to Buddy the Elf, ELF THE MUSICAL has plenty of holiday cheer. Jack Ducat has large shoes to fill as the beloved film character Buddy, a now adult man raised on the North Pole by Santa (Andrew Hendrick) and his elves— who must then venture into the wilds of New York City to meet his human father. Will Ferrell’s performance in the original 2003 film is embedded in the holiday movie zeitgeist — so it’s a big ask.
