At the recent launch of American Girl's new historical character Claudie Wells, Harlem School of the Arts welcomed special guest. The 58-year-old organization founded by the internationally acclaimed concert soprano Dorothy Maynor, was the recipient of a significant combination of funds and products from American Girl.

Paper Mill Playhouse announced that the theater’s annual Gala, which was held at the Hilton Short Hills on Friday, May 20, was sold out and raised almost $1.2 million with the most successful Live Auction in Paper Mill's 84-year history.

The concert marked the first live performance in the New Amsterdam Theatre since all of Broadway shut down in March of last year. The concert benefits The Actors Fund, who have provided support to members of the entertainment industry throughout the pandemic.

Last night, Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre reopened with Live at The New Am: A Benefit Concert for The Actors Fund, marking one of the first events on Broadway since the shutdown and the first Broadway performance to hire actors on an Equity contract, the union of Broadway performers. The sparkling silver anniversary event on November 4, 2019, raised an astounding $570,426 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

President George W. Bush and President John Agyekum Kufuor of Ghana joined cast members from Disney's Tony Award-winning Broadway production of THE LION KING on stage in the Rose Garden at the White House Monday evening, Sept. 15, 2008, following their performance at the State Dinner in honor of President Kufour's visit to the United States.
