Review: PARADE at Ahmanson Theatre

When PARADE debuted on Broadway in December 1998 it won Tonys for Best Book and Best Original Score and six Drama Desk Awards. The 2023 revival was nominated for six Tony Awards itself, winning two. Now touring, the show, based on a true story, is in Los Angeles through July 12. And while it takes place 1913–1915, it is still just as relevant today as it was a century ago.

From now through Sunday, March 9th, the recent acclaimed revival of the Broadway musical Parade will be featured at the Fisher Theatre. Parade made its Broadway debut in 1998, originally winning Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical at the 1999 Tony Awards. Then, in 2023, Parade was revived on Broadway and won Best Revival of a Musical as well as Best Direction of a Musical. The production currently in Detroit is fresh from Broadway, with Detroit being one of the first engagements on their tour.
PARADE Comes to the Kauffman Center This Month

Goo Goo Dolls Musical HERE IS GONE Gets Industry Reading

Songs from the iconic rock band the Goo Goo Dolls will be performed in an industry reading of a new jukebox musical, with a Sci-Fi narrative penned by playwright James Meneses. The musical, titled HERE IS GONE, is slated for a private industry reading on March 7th.
