TNC Sets 28th Lower East Side Festival Of The Arts For Next Month

With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 200 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 28th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 26 to 28 in and around Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street). Admission is free but donations will be gratefully accepted.

The Love Show NYC takes on The Lower East Side with “Edward: A Holiday Rock Ballet” at the iconic Arlene’s Grocery. From director/choreographer Angela Harriell and the dance company who brought you “Nutcracker: Rated R”, comes an homage to Tim Burton’s classic film “Edward Scissorhands”.

The Ludlow House presented Songs of the Serpent: Introducing songs from Medusa, a New Pop Opera on October 27th. The evening was directed by Rachel Klein and music directed by Dan Pardo featuring songs written by composer David James Boyd and lyricist Erik Ransom, with creative production by Chad Kessler.
