The Ecce ensemble today announced its 2019-20 season.The Ecce ensemble today announced its 2019-20 season. Ecce's 11th season includes performances of chamber masterworks by today's most innovative composers including Toshio Hosokawa and Christophe Bertrand and multimedia artist Laine Rettmer. In addition, Ecce celebrates its debut recording of John Aylward's monodrama Angelus Novus (New Focus, TBR April 2020). Ecce culminates the season with three residencies: AREA Gallery in Boston, MA (February 2020), Clark University (March 2020), and its 11th annual international Etchings Festival in France (July 2020).

A holiday tradition returns to Boston as the Handel and Haydn Society performs the dazzling and joyous Handel's Messiah. The performance is a hallmark of the H+H season that dates to its first concert in 1815 which featured the famed a?oeHallelujaha?? chorus. Conducted by Masaaki Suzuki, the concerts will take place Friday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, November 30, 2019 and Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 3 p.m. at Symphony Hall in Boston.

The Suffolk University Theatre Department presents the world premiere of Thornton Wilder's complete one-act play series - The Seven Deadly Sins - at the Modern Theatre.  Professor Wesley Savick, Suffolk University student Micaleen Rodgers, and Suffolk alumna Sydney Grant share directing responsibilities. Wilder's ambitious 7 one-act play cycle features 28 characters located in 7 distinct locations set within 7 distinct time periods.

The Museum of Russian Icons will present Emil Hoppé: Photographs from the Ballets Russes, November 15, 2019 through March 8, 2020. The exhibitions pays homage to the genius of two men: famed Russian impresario Sergei Diaghilev who, more than a century ago, founded the Ballets Russes; and renowned photographer Emil Otto Hoppé, who, between 1911 and 1921, photographed the champions of that illustrious company.

The Boch Center and Club Passim announced today that music legend and former front man of the J.Geils Band Peter Wolf will perform as a special guest at the 60th Anniversary Concert for Club Passim, the venerable folk music venue in Harvard Square. Wolf joins the previously announced lineup that includes Grammy award-winner Patty Griffin, Josh Ritter, and Dar Williams, as well as Sol y Canto with Alisa Amador, and Canadian singer songwriter Rose Cousins at the Boch Center Shubert Theatre on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 8:00PM. Arlekin Players Theatre presents Anton Chekhov's tragic comedy The Seagull , featuring members of the Arlekin company performing alongside four of Boston's favorite professional actors Anne Gottlieb** (Irina Arkadina), Dev Luthra (Pyotr Sorin), Nael Nacer** (Boris Trigorin), and Eliott Purcell** (Konstantin Treplev), in a newly adapted version of the play conceived  and directed by Igor Golyak. The new script translation is by Ryan McKittrick and Julia Smeliansky with Chekhov's letters used in the script translated by Laurence Senelick.
