New York City Ballet has announced that Ryan Tomash has been promoted from Soloist to Principal Dancer. The promotion was made by NYCB Artistic Director Jonathan Stafford and Associate Artistic Director Wendy Whelan following the matinee performance on Saturday, February 28, in which Tomash danced a leading role in Jerome Robbins' Dances at a Gathering.

Des Moines has a thriving arts community. One of the amazing organizations that is making this community thrive is Ballet Des Moines. I had the opportunity to attend their performance of “Nothing Holds Still” this last weekend. The show featured world-premiere dances and collaborations with other community artists. If all of their shows are as beautiful as this one, I have a feeling I’ll be seeing more of them.
