For over 16 years, WICKED's timeless story and stirring music has moved millions of people. In partnership with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), WICKED invited artists to revisit the Land of Oz and write an original song inspired by the characters, events, and themes of the show. After working alongside composer Stephen Schwartz, their songs were professionally orchestrated, engineered, and imagined into three never-before-seen music videos. Below, check out the first a new music video of the series a?' Flying Free: Wicked-Inspired Songs.The song, 'Higher' is written by Khiyon Hursey and performed by WICKED alum Eden Espinosa.

Good news! BroadwayWorld has just learned that Shoba Narayan will join the company of Wicked tonight, December 16, as Nessarose. She steps into the silver shoes of Gizel Jiménez, who departs the show to star in Bliss at Seattle 5th Avenue Theatre.

Good News! Wicked is back in Jacksonville! The prequel to The Wizard of Oz tells the story of the witches of Oz before Dorothy showed up. Surprise, Glinda the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch of the West were friends! This was my fourth time seeing the spectacular show, and it is just as magical as the first time I saw it. During the entire performance, I had the biggest grin on my face out of sheer amazement and wonder.

WICKED, Baltimore's most popular musical, will return to Baltimore's Hippodrome Theatre from February 12 through March 8. Tickets for the return engagement go on sale Friday, November 1.

Oh what a celebration we'll have today because it's the sixteenth anniversary of Wicked, which opened at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre on October 30, 2003. All I ever wanted was to be an Elphaba Standby. Not the principal Elphaba - specifically, the standby. It took me 15 years of dreaming and six years of actively auditioning for me to earn my dream job. During those six years of Wicked auditions I locked into the idea of being the standby because, the way I saw it, the job would be like being paid to learn. I love learning; I love being a student, maybe more than anything else. I love highlighters and raising my hand and making discoveries (sound like a certain green girl we all know?); but I could never afford to take acting classes. I always imagined that being an Elphaba Standby would allow me the opportunity to learn not just the show, but how musicals work - from how actors sustain themselves for eight shows a week, to how the sound engineers mix a show, to how a makeup supervisor... well, supervises. And I was right, by the way. That is the exact perk of being a standby - you get to see everything.
