Each person/duo will be awarded a $20,000 unrestricted grant in addition to a $2,500 Saw Island Foundation Recording Grant to support the production of new demo recordings that better represent the artist’s vision.

The American Theatre Wing has revealed the recipients of the 2025 Jonathan Larson Grant, the annual prize awarded to exceptional emerging musical theatre composers, lyricists, and librettists, or writing teams.

Producers Robyn Goodman, Josh Fiedler, and Nicole Hudson will host invited workshop presentations of the new musical Regency Girls. Regency Girls features a book by Emmy Award winners Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan.

A 29-hour reading for the musical adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians was held in New York City recently, with several members of the creative team sharing photos from inside. 

This past season was the year of the comedy in St. Louis Theater. Companies across the city had audiences laughing all season long with slapstick, farce, and satire. There were some wonderful musical productions that really sang, a few hard hitting dramas, but comedies reigned in both quantity and quality. Instead of publishing a Top 10 list this year, I’m going to recognize the Best in St. Louis Theater for 2025. “The Best” is still a shortened list of just 13 shows out of the nearly 90 shows I saw this past year. It took weeks of thought and painstaking consideration to decide which productions would be included in my annual list. Here they are. The productions are listed in alphabetical order, not ranked by favorites:

A reading for the musical adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians is being held in New York City this week. The stage version of Jon M. Chu's hit film is being worked on, with Helen J. Shen, Alyssa Fox, Jasmine Forsberg and more involved.

'Bring It On: The Musical,' based on the film about competitive cheerleading, featuring music by Tony winners Tom Kitt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, will make its Cebu premiere this weekend, November 28-29, 2025, at the Saint Theresa's College of Cebu Auditorium, at 7 p.m.

The Dramatists Guild Foundation hosted its annual Gala  at Ziegfeld Ballroom. This year’s Gala celebrated 25 years of the DGF Fellows program, fostering emerging dramatists through mentorship and collaboration to prepare their next great story for the stage. Check out photos here!

Family Equality has announced a star-studded lineup for A Night of Celebration, Inspiration, and Broadway Magic. The evening will feature performances by 2025 Tony Award- nominees Darren Criss (Maybe Happy Ending), Megan Hilty (Death Becomes Her), and Nicole Scherzinger (Sunset Blvd).
