Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Ohio Theatre
by Paul Batterson - Nov 21, 2025

At first glance, SOME LIKE IT HOT might seem to fall into the “If it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” category of entertainment. The traveling musical production runs Nov. 18-23 at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State Street in downtown Columbus).
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOW at Overture
by Scott Rawson - Nov 13, 2025

Some Like it Hot, set in the 1930’s during prohibition and segregation, was a delight to behold.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at BROADWAY SAN JOSE
by Linda Hodges - Oct 22, 2025

San Jose is turning up the heat with SOME LIKE IT HOT! It bursts onto the stage in a blaze of jazz, joy and unapologetic flair. With dazzling choreography, comedy, and a story that balances the 1930s Prohibition era with 21st-century heart, this Broadway tour redefines what musical comedy can be.
Review: Tony-Winning SOME LIKE IT HOT Musical Adaptation Amuses at Segerstrom Center
by Michael Quintos - Oct 14, 2025

Nominated for 13 Tony Awards, the 2022 musical adaptation SOME LIKE IT HOT is a surprisingly delightful, hilariously fun, and gleefully silly musical comedy that also has an endearingly open-minded new twist that re-contextualizes the movie's main raison d'être into something more empowering and thoughtful. The infectiously joyful show's marvelous touring production—directed and choreographed with rousing, kinetic energy by Casey Nicholaw direct from its Broadway origins—continues performances at OC's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA through October 19, 2025.
Review: Everyone Will Like SOME LIKE IT HOT at the Eccles Theater
by Tyler Hinton - Oct 2, 2025

Everyone will like the top drawer national tour of SOME LIKE IT HOT, currently playing at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City. The classy design, tight choreography, and pastiche score recall the musicals of yesteryear to perfection while casting light on the story’s themes and dialogue through a stirring contemporary lens.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at The Paramount Theatre
by Jay Irwin - Sep 18, 2025

Dear Readers, first off there were way too many empty seats at the Paramount last night for the new musical version of “Some Like It Hot”. Where were you all? Do you not like musicals? Do you not like fun? Were you trapped under something heavy? (I will only accept the last answer as a viable excuse.). At any rate, get your tickets and do not let this one get away. Secondly, for our performance we got the added opportunity to see the resilience of theater people and the power of the understudy. But more on that later.

Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT Sizzles at Broadway Sacramento
by Courtney Symes - Sep 11, 2025

Broadway Sacramento’s new season is sizzling with the arrival of the first national tour of Some Like it Hot. Based on the classic 1959 film of the same name, its reimagination on Broadway in 2022 garnered four Tony Award wins out of thirteen nominations. Now, it’s bringing the Golden Age to Sacramento for an unforgettable experience of glitz and glamour.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Keller Auditorium
by Krista Garver - Sep 4, 2025

What did our critic think of SOME LIKE IT HOT at Keller Auditorium?
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Hollywood Pantages Theatre
by Harker Jones - Aug 2, 2025

It’s clever and smart but not smirking. It’s romantic and sweet, but never saccharine. Everything about SOME LIKE IT HOT fires on all cylinders, gleaming like a brass band.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT National Tour at Durham Performing Arts Center
by Jeffrey Kare - Jun 18, 2025

Based on Billy Wilder’s 1959 Academy Award-winning film of the same name, Some Like It Hot follows two musicians, Joe & Jerry, who are forced to flee Chicago after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters hot on their heels, they’re on the run as the newest members of the swingingest big band ever to cross the country…disguised as Josephine & Daphne. This is the second musicalization of the classic comedy following the 1972 Tony-nominated Sugar.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at The Hippodrome, Baltimore
by Timoth David Copney - May 7, 2025

The movie, Some Like It Hot, has long been a favorite of mine. As a kid growing up in Dayton and then Cincinnati, Ohio, I loved seeing Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon don women’s clothing, outrun the bad guys, and the line that Lemmon says, ‘now look what you did – you tore off one of my chests!’ struck me then and now as hilarious.

Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT Jazzes Up the Issues at Benedum Center
by Greg Kerestan - Apr 21, 2025

It's a wonder Some Like It Hot, the Billy Wilder film, has held up as well as it does without seeming totally creaky and outdated. This is, after all, a 1959 Hollywood comedy, albeit one that is remarkably fluid in its attitudes towards both gender and sexuality.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Orpheum Theatre Memphis
by AniKatrina Fageol - Apr 10, 2025

What did our critic think of SOME LIKE IT HOT at Orpheum Theatre Memphis? Some Like It Hot brings fiery charcters, sultry jazz, powerful belts, and quite a few surprises.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Orpheum Theatre is Unstoppable!
by Christine Swerczek - Mar 28, 2025

The film “Some Like it Hot” conjures up visions of blonde Marilyn Monroe with her two musician sidekicks, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, in prohibition era Chicago. The musicians dressed as women join an all women band to avoid a mafia boss when they witness a murder.
SOME LIKE IT HOT Is Coming To The Bushnell; Tickets On Sale Now
by A.A. Cristi - Mar 28, 2025

The SOME LIKE IT HOT North American tour coming to The Bushnell on April 29 through May 4, 2025. The musical is based on the classic MGM film Some Like It Hot, which has been named the “Funniest American Movie of All Time” by the American Film Institute.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at Fox Theatre, St. Louis
by Rob Levy - Mar 4, 2025

For Joe and Jerry, two entertainers looking for career stability, being on the run can be a real drag!  The lead characters of Some Like It Hot, now onstage at the Fox Theatre, begin the production as run-of-the-mill performers bouncing from gig to gig in Prohibition era Chicago. However, after they accidentally witness a mob hit, they take on the personas of two gals in a female troupe as they attempt to lay low.
Review: SOME LIKE IT HOT at ASU Gammage
by Herbert Paine - Feb 12, 2025

It’s always a risk to transplant a beloved classic film to the stage, particularly when that film is one so thoroughly embedded in its time as SOME LIKE IT HOT. Yet this latest Broadway adaptation, now performing at ASU Gammage until the 16th, with kinetic direction and crowd-pleasing choreography by Casey Nicholaw, not only succeeds in updating the story but breathes new, surprising life into its proceedings.
