STAGE TUBE: Mandy Bruno and the Cast of Maltz Jupiter's THE MUSIC MAN Spoof 'U Can't Touch This'

By:

In the video, the cast of The Music Man at The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, featuring Broadway's Mandy Bruno, star of the show Matt Loehr and more, gets down in this hilarious video spoof of MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This." Click below! The show just closed on December 16th.

This classic American musical takes us on a toe-tapping adventure with fast-talking salesman Professor Harold Hill, who convinces the townspeople of River City, Iowa that they need a band, instruments and uniforms. His plans to skip town with their money comes to a crashing halt when he falls in love and has to face the music. With unforgettable songs such as "Til There Was You," and "Seventy-six Trombones," this Tony Award-winning sensation is a treat for the entire family.

Bruno, who is making her Maltz Jupiter Theater debut, plays 'Marian Paroo'. She previously played the role of Marina Cooper for six years on CBS's Guiding Light, for which she earned a Daytime Emmy Award Nomination. On Broadway, Mandy has starred in Les Miserables and Patti LuPone's Gypsy. Off-Broadway credits include Frankenstein and This Side of Paradise. Regional credits include the leads in I Hate Hamlet, Beauty and the Beast, and the tour of The Sound of Music. She can also be seen in the two web series, Best Sellers and All's Faire. Mandy earned an Edgemar Film Festival Award Nomination for her work in the film, Perhaps Tomorrow.

Matt Loehr (Harold Hill) made his debut at Maltz Jupiter with Crazy for You, where he played Bobby Child and received the Carbonell Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical. He returned this past spring as Cornelius Hackl in Marcia Milgrom Dodge's production of Hello, Dolly! Matt recently finished a brief stint in the Broadway production of Evita starring Ricky Martin. Other Broadway credits are the original Broadway casts of The Producers, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, Promises, Promises, Elf the Musical along with stepping into the Broadway productions of Fosse and Movin' Out. Regionally he has gotten to play such great parts as Don Lockwood in Singin in the Rain (North Shore Music Theatre), Phil Davis in White Christmas (Theatre Under The Stars) and Bill Calhoun in Kiss Me Kate (Cape Playhouse).
