BIO

Sharon Rose found her voice in church choirs and on school stages at a very young age, and from then on, Sharon and her eclectic band of siblings traveled together playing gigs and venues all over the country in pursuit of their dream: making music that people can laugh, dance and cry to. A chance encounter found her in an audition room for the hit West End show Carole King: The Musical where she played the role of Little Eva. Since then she’s covered the role of Diana Ross in Motown: The Musical and played a Radio in Tony Kushner’s Broadway hit Caroline, or Change at the Hampstead Theatre before taking on three majestic roles as a standby in Hamilton.

Review: SYLVIA, The Old Vic
by Aliya Al-Hassan - Feb 15, 2023

In Sylvia, the subject of the show is potentially fascinating, with much comparison to draw to the current day; echoes of recent police brutality against women, the challenges against the right to protest and the fight for equal pay rumble on 100 years later. The show has so much to say, but ends up muffled. Rose
