Noah Himmelstein is a New York based theatre director. Recent work includes Chelsea Marcantel's Everything is Wonderful (Philadelphia Theatre Company); Andrew Lippa's I Am Anne Hutchinson (Strathmore) and I Am Harvey Milk (Lincoln Center, Stathmore, San Francisco, LA & Denver); Jonathan Tolins's The Forgotten Woman (Bay Street Theatre); Heather McDonald's An Almost Holy Picture; Karen Hartman's The Book of Joseph; Michael John LaChiusa & Ellen Fitzhugh's Los Otros; and JB Priestley's An Inspector Calls (Everyman Theatre); Daniel Zaitchik's The Costume (Inner Voices/The Barrow Group); Bleeding Love (Fredericia Theatre, Denmark); Loving Leo (Weston Playhouse); and a site specific Into the Woods on location at Symphony Woods, MD for Young Artists of America during the pandemic. In addition, he has directed for the New York Philharmonic (Young People's Concerts series: The Harlem Renaissance), Lincoln Center American Songbook and American Opera Projects. His assistant director credits include Golden Boy (Lincoln Center Theater).
Noah is Associate Artistic Director of Baltimore's Everyman Theatre and serves as a teaching artist for Broadway Dreams Foundation. He is a graduate of Emerson College. Upcoming: the New York premieres of Karen Hartman's The Lucky Star and the world premiere of Deborah Zoe Laufer's Rooted at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Thornton Wilder's The Skin of Our Teeth at Everyman. Noah's debut film, ShirtTugger will premiere in 2022.
