A dream team of artists has come together to do what producer Terry Barber says is “necessary good.” After building an impressive resume, touring with a multiple Grammy-winning group, and being hired as a soloist at many of the world's best venues, rare countertenor and producer Terry Barber announces “The Gay Tenors, a show that entertains with human rights messaging,' he explains.

Broadway and nationally touring talent are joining the effort to generate direct donations to the Maui Strong Fund which is providing financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the people and places affected by the devastating Maui wildfires.

Over 2,500 students from 21 schools throughout Maine recently attended nine sold-out Student Matinee performances of The Public Theatre's production of 'Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical.' The Public Theatre's student matinee program enables schools to attend a performance at the Lewiston theatre for the reduced rate of only $5.00 a ticket, offering the majority of students the chance to experience live professional theatre for the very first time. 

Patrons and friends from the Playhouse on Park community tuned in for Playhouse's Season 15 Big Reveal in-person and via livestream; the season was announced by Executive Director Tracy Flater and Co-Artistic Directors Sean Harris and Darlene Zoller.

Now celebrating its 11th anniversary, Goodspeed Musicals has announced the participants for the annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Grove at Goodspeed Musicals which will be held January 31 - February 27 on the Goodspeed campus in East Haddam, Connecticut.

The new original musical Senior Class will receive a AEA 29-hour industry reading beginning this week. Senior Class has a book, melodies, and lyrics written by Melvin Tunstall, III and music & arrangements by Greg Dean Borowsky and was conceived by Kevin Duda.

The Carole King Musical will return to the Paramount Theatre for three performances only – on Friday, April 8 (8pm) and Saturday, April 9 (2pm and 8pm). The two previously scheduled performances on Sunday, April 10 (1pm and 6:30 pm) have been cancelled due to the limited availability of transportation to ship the set to the tour’s next engagement.

On May 14th, Musicals From Home will release a virtual production of the new musical Peter(Her)Pan, a new Neverland. Musicals from Home, created in response to COVID-19 by Broadway actors Kirsten Wyatt (Annie) and Ben Liebert ( Fiddler in Yiddish), affords actors of all ages to continue performing from the safety of their own homes.
