Kate Marilley BIO

Kate was bitten by the theatrical bug when she was a just a tiny tot, guided by parents who were also in the theatre. Growing up in Southern California, Kate put on her first pair of dance shoes at age 3 while waving around a wand in “Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boo” and was suddenly bewitched!

Kate trained at Orange County Song & Dance in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, singing, and acting. She also attended Long Beach Ballet Company and became a company apprentice at 12 years old. She then continued her education in dance at the Jimmie DeFore Dance Center where she added modern dance and hip-hop to her plate of skills. Kate then attended OCSA (Orange County School of the Arts) as a high school freshman studying commercial dance and musical theatre. Of course acting and singing have been passions of hers as well, and she studied privately with coaches in L.A.

Kate started her professional theatrical career as Mary Lennox in “The Secret Garden” in California, and she knew from that moment on she was destined to be in the arts and on the stage! She attended and graduated from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama with a BFA in acting and musical theatre. She also attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) where she studied classical acting in Shakespeare and stage combat/fencing.

Kate has had the honor of working at numerous theaters across the country including Paper Mill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, The Denver Center, Long Wharf Theatre to name a few, as well as on Broadway. She is also passionate about teaching and has recently begun teaching master classes in dance, acting, and audition preparation at various schools and intensives! What did our critic think of BEETLEJUICE IS THE GHOST WITH THE MOST at Auditorium Theatre?

Review: BEETLEJUICE at Orpheum Theatre Memphis

What better way to celebrate Halloween than sitting in the audience of BEETLEJUICE The Musical?! The hilarious new musical opened in Memphis on Halloween, and runs until November the 5th! In other words, you don't have many more chances to catch this creepy old guy... and the rest of this phenomenal cast!

Review: Spooktacular production of BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL at Straz Center

BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL is a show that revels in its own weirdness and invites the audience to do the same. The musical is a rollercoaster of laughs, gasps, and heartwarming moments. Capturing the spirit of the original film while carving out its unique identity as a musical, the show's mischievous and cheeky nature keeps the audience engaged from start to finish, and you'll leave the theater with a smile on your face and images like an unwanted Beetlejuice lap dance and the earworm 'Day O!” stuck in your head.

Review: A Rocky Start Helps to Usher in Halloween With BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL at Straz Center for The Performing Arts

Beetlejuice the Musical, is a live stage musical, based on the 1988 film of the same name in which Michael Keaton plays the iconic ghoul. The musical features music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, with a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King.

Review: BEETELJUICE at Fox Theatre, St. Louis

Using the Tim Burton film as a foundation, Beetlejuice is a rollicking good time. Filled with stellar performances, amazing songs (particularly in Act 2), dazzling sets, and a score that raises the dead, it is equal parts black comedy musical theater and offbeat grief therapy.

Review: BEETLEJUICE at Des Moines Performing Arts

All you gotta do is say his name three times, and he will appear on the Civic Center stage. 'Beetlejuice: The Musical' has been summoned to Des Moines Performing Arts as the finale of the 2022-2023 Willis Broadway Series. You may be asking if 'Beetlejuice' is the perfect start to your spooky season. This show is one of the hottest tickets in the area, with limited seating still available. I attended opening night on October 3, and the audience was cheering from the show's start to the end.

Review: BEETLEJUICE at Washington Pavilion

What did our critic think of BEETLEJUICE at Washington Pavilion? Shows like BEETLEJUICE, touring the country and showing at the Washington Pavilion’s Mary Sommervold Hall this week are a visual spectacle of lighting and scene design genius. As the show opens the effects that draw us into this wacky tale on the subject of “death” are mesmerizing and sometimes hypnotic in the way that our eye is drawn into the scene

Looking for a fun night out in the Twin Cities? Look no further than the National Tour of Beetlejuice The Musical, playing at the Orpheum Theatre September 19-24. This tour is a thrilling recreation of the Broadway show, sure to delight even the most buttoned-up theatergoer.

Review: BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis

What did our critic think of BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL at Orpheum Theatre Minneapolis? It’s showtime! Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.

Review: BEETLEJUICE at San Diego Civic Theatre

It’s showtime for the ghost with the most at Broadway San Diego as BEETLEJUICE has descended upon the San Diego Civic Theatre through August 20th. This musical, inspired by the hit movie, brings familiar characters and new adventures from this world and the Netherworld, with ghosts, demons, and even a sandworm or two.

Review: BEETLEJUICE at the Eccles Theater is Eye-Popping

The national tour of BEETLEJUICE, now playing at the Eccles Theater, is an eye-popping spectacle that tickles the funny bone and warms the soul.

Review: BEETLEJUICE at Broadway San Jose

What did our critic think of BEETLEJUICE at Broadway San Jose? Who knew that Beetlejuice would be just the right tonic for the nightly news and this summer’s Indictment Watch ’23 (there’s still Georgia to watch for).  Turns out that frighteningly funny laughs about death beats reality every time. This screen-to-stage adaptation from the iconic, beloved 1998 Tim Burton film of the same name was made for the stage. But it has a less than one-week-only, “Bay-stay” (it RIP after August 6) so get your tickets now. Forget your troubles, c’mon it’s scary at Broadway San Jose’s Beetlejuice!
