Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter began her acting career with a television commercial in 1983 and made her screen debut in the television film A Pattern of Roses (1983). She made her feature-film debut as Lady Jane Grey in Lady Jane (1986), following her breakthrough performance as Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View (1985). She also appeared in Miami Vice (1986–1987), The Vision (1987), A Hazard of Hearts (1987), and Getting It Right (1989).

In the 1990s, Bonham Carter appeared in the television series Absolutely Fabulous (1994), the French film Portraits chinois (1996), and the film Twelfth Night (1996). She played Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove (1997), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, and appeared as Marla Singer in Fight Club (1999).

In the 2000s, Bonham Carter played Anne Boleyn in the television miniseries Henry VIII (2003) and voiced Lady Tottingham in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005). She appeared in Conversations with Other Women (2005) and played Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). She also played Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), Serena Kogan in Terminator Salvation (2009), and the mother squirrel narrator in The Gruffalo (2009).

Her 2010s credits included Alice in Wonderland (2010), in which she played the Red Queen, The King's Speech (2010), Enid (2009), Toast (2010), Great Expectations (2012), Les Misérables (2012), A Therapy (2012), The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet (2013), The Lone Ranger (2013), Burton & Taylor (2013), and Cinderella (2015), in which she played the Fairy Godmother. She reprised the role of the Red Queen in Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016) and appeared in Ocean's 8 (2018).

From 2018 to 2020, Bonham Carter played Princess Margaret in the Netflix series The Crown. She subsequently appeared as Eudoria Holmes in Enola Holmes (2020) and reprised the role in Enola Holmes 2 (2022). Her later film credits include Four Letters of Love (2024).
