BIO

Weston began her stage career in 1979, making her Broadway debut that year. Her early theater credits include Loose Ends, in which she played Maraya from 1979 to 1980, and The Lady from Dubuque, in which she played Lucinda in 1980. She later appeared in Garden District as Mrs. Holly in 1995 and Summer and Smoke as Mrs. Bassett in 1996.


Weston began her television career with a recurring role on the ABC daytime soap opera Ryan's Hope, appearing as Gloria D'Angelo in two episodes in 1980. She joined the cast of the CBS sitcom Alice as Jolene Hunnicut, appearing in 90 episodes from 1981 to 1985.

Weston's film credits began with Honky Tonk Freeway in 1981, in which she played Grace. She later appeared as Felicia Doolan Marks in Lost Angels in 1989 and Miss Nimvel in Little Man Tate in 1991. Her 1995 film credits include Dead Man Walking as Mary Beth Percy and Unstrung Heroes as Amelia. For Dead Man Walking, she was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female. She appeared as Valerie Swaney in Flirting with Disaster in 1996 and Dee Bartholemew in Celebrity in 1998.

In 1997 and 1998, Weston played Reba Freitag in The Last Night of Ballyhoo on stage, earning nominations for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Her subsequent theater credits include True West as Mom in 2000 and Marvin's Room as Aunt Ruth in 2017.

Weston's film work continued with The Talented Mr. Ripley as Aunt Joan in 1999, followed by Snow Falling on Cedars as Etta Heine, Ride with the Devil as Mrs. Clark and Getting to Know You as Bottle Lady. In 2000, she appeared in Hanging Up as Madge Turner. Her 2001 film credits include K-PAX as Doris Archer, Hearts in Atlantis as Alana Files and In the Bedroom as Katie Grinnel. She was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for In the Bedroom.

In television, Weston appeared as a nurse practitioner in an episode of ER in 1999. She played Margaret Talmadge in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2001, Carrie in the six-episode miniseries Out of Order in 2003, Sue in Frasier in 2004 and Joanne Dexler in Law & Order: Criminal Intent in 2005. She appeared as Adele Delfino in Desperate Housewives in 2008.

Weston's 2002 film credits include Far from Heaven as Mona Lauder and Igby Goes Down as Bunny. In 2003, she appeared in Runaway Jury as Mrs. Brandt, Hulk as Mrs. Krensler and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days as Glenda. She played Vivian Percy in The Village and Mother in the short film Resurrection in 2004. In 2005, she appeared in Junebug as Peg.

From 2010 to 2011, Weston co-starred as Paula Ann Hendricks in the television series Memphis Beat, appearing in 16 episodes. Her other television credits include Modern Family as Barbara Tucker in five episodes from 2010 to 2016, Under the Dome as Mrs. Moore in 2013, Psych as Mrs. Trout in 2014 and American Horror Story: Freak Show as Lillian Hemmings in five episodes from 2014 to 2015. She appeared as Mrs. Libby in two episodes of Vice Principals in 2016 and as Lady Ambrosia in an episode of The Blacklist that same year.

Weston's film credits from 2007 include No Reservations as Mrs. Peterson, The Invasion as Mrs. Belicec and Joshua as Hazel Cairn. In 2009, she appeared in After.Life as Beatrice Taylor, The Box as Lana Burns and Observe and Report as Mom. Her 2010 films include The Extra Man as Meredith Lagerfeld, Knight and Day as Molly Knight and Happy Tears as Neighbor. She appeared as Jane in Demoted in 2011.

In 2014, Weston appeared in Goodbye to All That as Joan and Adult Beginners as Joy. She played Doris in The Intern in 2015, Marti Morrinson in The Disappointments Room and Susan Yurley in In the Radiant City in 2016, Florence in Freak Show in 2017, Vicki in Poms in 2019, and Arlene in Adam and Bobby in The Secret: Dare to Dream in 2020. Her later film credits include Venida in A Little Prayer in 2023 and Flora in You're Cordially Invited in 2025.

Weston's later television work includes Dottie in four episodes of Hunters and Dolores in two episodes of Bless This Mess in 2020. She played Shirley Neumann in two episodes of The Thing About Pam and Georgia Taylor in four episodes of Echoes in 2022. From 2025 to 2026, she played Mama Margaret in the television series Leanne, appearing in 11 or more episodes.
