BIO
Amy Marie Seidel (she.her.hers) is a NYC-based theater director, playwright, and dramaturg who has worked on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regionally. She is a proud company member at Tectonic Theater Project, where she has developed numerous plays, including Here There Are Blueberries (2025 Lortel winner for Outstanding Play and 2024 Pulitzer Prize finalist in Drama), which has been produced around the world, including Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, La Jolla Playhouse, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and Stratford East in London. In 2021, she served as dramaturg on the site-specific Seven Deadly Sins (2022 Drama Desk Award winner for Unique Theatrical Experience). She is currently commissioned to write an interview-based play supported by the National Immigration Law Center alongside her collaborator Elio Martín. Outside of her work with Tectonic, she recently directed Machinal off-Broadway at New York City Center, and she also directed the first licensed production of Here There Are Blueberries in the US, at Detroit Public Theatre. As director, she is currently developing All The Frozen Ones by Stella Ferra (recent reading at Gulfshore Playhouse) as well as A Clean Slate by Jack Saleeby (recent reading at Westside Theater). As Associate Director, she is currently developing Billie Jean by Lauren Gunderson (Chicago Shakespeare Theater, 2025).
