2025 AWARDS SEASON

The Hamilton trio will reunite to open the ceremony, which is set to air on TNT and TBS. The SAG Awards have previously featured openers for the top of the telecast rather than hosts. Eugene and David Levy opened the 2020 broadcast.

Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, and Regina Hall have been announced as the hosts of the 94th Oscars. The news will be officially announced on Good Morning America tomorrow, February 15. The Audio Publishers Association (APA) have announced finalists for the 2022 Audie Awards. Finalists include Cynthia Erivo for Best Female Narrator and Lin-Manuel Miranda for Best Male Narrator. Lin-Manuel Miranda has been nominated for Outstanding Achievement of a First-Time Feature Film Director for his directorial debut with the Netflix film adaption of tick, tick...BOOM! Steven Spielberg has been nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Theatrical Feature Film for his work directing West Side Story.

The American Theatre Wing has announced details for the 66th Annual Obie Awards, celebrating and honoring Off- and Off-Off-Broadway. For the first time, streaming virtual productions will be eligible for nomination due to COVID-19.

Oscar, Tony, Grammy and two-time Emmy winner Rita Moreno’s career began with her Broadway debut at age 13. Most recently, Moreno co-stars and is an Executive Producer of the Steven Spielberg remake of the classic, West Side Story, which released worldwide this past December. Moreno won an Oscar for her performance as Anita in the original film.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Tony voters will be required to complete unconscious bias training beginning this season. Members of the Tony Awards voting committee will take a free, online training session, led by inclusion strategist Vernā Myers, which will teach them how to identify unconscious or implicit bias in their decision-making processes and how to correct it.

Lady Gaga won an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2019 for 'Shallow' from A Star is Born. Previous winners of the Icon Award have included Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, and more. It was previously announced that Andrew Garfield would receive the festival's Achievement Award for his performance in tick, tick...BOOM!

 The Tony Awards Administration Committee met yesterday to confirm the eligibility status of 12 Broadway productions for the 2021-2022 season.  This was the first time the Tony Awards Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 75th Annual Tony Awards. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

The AFI Awards honorees include 10 outstanding films and 10 outstanding TV programs deemed representative of this year’s biggest achievements. West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, and The Tragedy of Macbeth have been named as some of this year's best films. Schmigadoon!, Hacks, Ted Lasso, and Wandavision were named as some of 2021's best TV shows.

West Side Story took home the award for Best Cinematography at at the 2021 New York Film Critics Awards. Kathryn Hunter has been named Best Supporting Actress in Apple's adaption of Tragedy of Macbeth. Lady Gaga also won for for Best Actress in House of Gucci and Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Lost Daughter won Best First Film.

The nominations for the 2022 IPA Satellite Awards have been announced! The film adaptions of tick, tick...BOOM!, In the Heights, and Cyrano received nominations. The Drama League has announced that The 88th Annual Drama League Awards will be presented in person at The Ziegfeld Ballroom (141 W 54th St, NYC) on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 12:00PM.

The Outer Critics Circle Awards has announced the dates for its 2022 awards. The nominators cut-off date is Sunday, April 24, 2022. The Outer Critics Circle Awards Nominations announcement will take place on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Winners will be announced on Monday, May 16, 2022.
