To celebrate this electrifying new musical, I caught up with JonAvery Worrell, who stars as Knuck, to talk about his journey from Georgia to the stage, the heart of HELL’S KITCHEN, and what it means to perform for his hometown crowd.

Why all of these limited runs? Shows with celebrities in them make sense, they have busy schedules, and setting aside 16 or 20 weeks to rehearse and perform in a Broadway show is a non-trivial juggling act. But increasingly there has been a trend of limited runs, even absent celebrity casting.

“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” took on a new meaning in Vancouver this week as MJ THE MUSICAL debuted at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Tuesday for its opening night.
