BIO

Miyuki Miyagi (she/her) is an Okinawan and Jewish American actor, singer, dancer, and multi-instrumentalist. Miyuki grew up on Long Island, New York. She is a graduate of Princeton University.

Most recently, Miyuki made her Off-Broadway debut originating the role of Daphney in Douglas Lyons’ and Ethan D. Pakchar’s BEAU THE MUSICAL , both in its sold-out downtown run at Out of the Box Theatrics and in its commercial uptown transfer to St. Luke’s Theatre. Miyuki also made her West End debut in January of 2026 in the role of Sally Gardiner & March Sisters’ standby in the JO - THE LITTLE WOMEN MUSICAL at London’s legendary Theatre Royal Drury Lane, alongside Broadway and West End legends Tracie Bennett and Kerry Ellis. (Miyuki can be heard as the voice of Beth March and of Sally Gardiner in recordings of Dan Redfeld’s JO score here and here.)

Miyuki has performed regionally at Goodspeed Musicals, Tuacahn Center for the Arts, East West Players, 5-Star Theatricals, Capital City Theatre, The Barnstormers Theatre, Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, Musical Theatre Guild, and The Culver City Symphony. Among the highlights of her regional adventures, Miyuki counts being voted murderer (twice!) when she performed her understudy role of the mysterious Helena Landless in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD at The Goodspeed Opera House. (She played Isabel Yearsley when not on for Helena.) She also loved playing Natasha Rostova in the regional premiere of NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 at Capital City Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin. A little farther back, Miyuki played Peggy Maruyama in the West Coast Premiere of ALLEGIANCE with George Takei, right in the heart of L.A.’s Little Tokyo. She also performed as the understudy for Jasmine and Mulan in Disney’s WHEN YOU WISH and as a performer in rep in the 2019 season at the 2,400-seat red-rock amphitheater at Tuacahn Center for the Arts.

Beyond her work as a singer, dancer, and actor, Miyuki is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Miyuki is primarily a violinist, who also plays flute, piccolo, viola, and a bit of guitar and piano. As a violinist, Miyuki has played with orchestras on many acclaimed stages, from Kodak Hall at Eastman School of Music to Carnegie Hall. Recently, she has enjoyed bringing her love for violin closer to the spotlight in her breakout debut as an actor-musician in BEAU Off-Broadway.

Passionate about making challenging work and a natural collaborator, Miyuki has helped create many new musicals. She is proud to have originated the role of Daphney BEAU THE MUSICAL Off-Broadway, to have been part of the earliest development of Martin Storrow’s KING OF PANGAEA, and to currently be developing the historical roles of Gyo Fujikawa in Newport New Works’ INK & PAINT & of Liuba Levitsky in VILNA: A RESISTANCE STORY, Kevin & Allison Cloud’s klezmer-pop musical about the Jewish resistance movement during the Holocaust.

Miyuki attended Princeton University on a full, need-based scholarship. She studied politics, environmental studies, and theater. A lover of the interdisciplinary, Miyuki wrote her thesis on analyzing social movements - and their ability to communicate their messages - through the lens of performance studies. Her passion still lies in the overlap of art and activism.

Miyuki believes that theater opens hearts and breaks down barriers. Her mission is to use it to bring empathy, catharsis, hope, and truth to the communities where she performs and to the world at large.
