Cristin Milioti

Cristin Milioti began her screen career with appearances in national advertising campaigns, including a commercial for the Ford Edge, before taking on small roles in television series such as The Sopranos and the film Greetings from the Shore. On stage, she appeared on Broadway in 2007 as Alice Ashbrook in Coram Boy. She continued her theatre work with roles in That Face (2010) and Stunning (2010), the latter earning her a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress.

From 2011 to 2013, Milioti starred in the musical Once, receiving a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical in 2012. During this period, she also contributed to the 2011 episode “Adventure” of This American Life and appeared on songs from Glen Hansard’s 2012 album Rhythm and Repose. In 2013, she joined the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, appearing in the season eight finale and becoming a series regular for the ninth season. That same year, she appeared in the film The Wolf of Wall Street.

In 2014, Milioti starred in the NBC comedy series A to Z. She co-starred in the second season of FX’s Fargo in 2015. In 2017, she appeared in the Black Mirror episode “USS Callister,” reprising the role in 2025 for “USS Callister: Into Infinity.” In 2020, she starred in the film Palm Springs, and in 2021, she led the HBO Max series Made for Love.

In 2024, Milioti starred as Sofia Falcone in The Penguin, an HBO miniseries spin-off of The Batman. For this role, she received the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Movie/Miniseries and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
