National Theatre: Collaborators, Benjamin Britten in The Habit of Art, Garry Essendine in Present Laughter, Subtle in The Alchemist, George Bush in Stuff Happens, Walter Burns in His Girl Friday, Leontes in The Winter’s Tale and Lord Foppington in The Relapse, for which two roles he won the Evening Standard Drama Award for Best Actor in 2001, the title role in Albert Speer, Ghetto, The Recruiting Officer, and Henry Higgins in the National’s production of My Fair Lady at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, for which he won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
He is an Associate Actor of the RSC where his work includes Hyde Park, The Taming of the Shrew, Measure for Measure, the title role in Richard II, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (also on US tour and on Broadway), Much Ado About Nothing, and title roles in Peer Gynt (Olivier Award, Best Actor, 1996) and Hamlet (also in US – Helen Hayes Award, Best Actor, 1998).

TWFest Announces Free Writing Workshop Series


TWFest is kicking off a free monthly writing workshop series as part of a partnership with Baldwin & Co. Coffee and Bookstore. New Orleans author, Alex Jennings, will lead the first workshop on Saturday, February 4 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The workshops will be generative and interactive, so attendees are encouraged to bring their notebooks. Writers of any experience level are welcome, and the series will feature mostly New Orleans writers.

Simon Russell Beale will play the title role in Henrik Ibsen's John Gabriel Borkman in a new version by Lucinda Coxon at the Bridge Theatre.  Directed by Nicholas Hytner with set designs by Anna Fleischle and costume designs by Liam Bunster, John Gabriel Borkman will have its first performance on 24 September 2022 with opening night on 29 September 2022 with the run concluding on 26 November 2022.
