Less a bust up of two of the 20th century’s great British artists, Perfection, of a Kind: Britten vs Auden is a celebration of the artists’ curious friendship, and shared artistic virtuosity. Deftly curated musical and poetic extracts from Auden and a young Britten, it is left up to us to decide how much of Auden’s almost paternal influence rubbed off on the composer.

On Sunday 5 November, City of London Sinfonia and the London Review of Books will present an unmissable evening of music and words exploring the musical-literary collaborations and collisions between two of the greatest artists of the twentieth century, Benjamin Britten and W.H Auden.

TWFest is kicking off a free monthly writing workshop series as part of a partnership with Baldwin & Co. Coffee and Bookstore. New Orleans author, Alex Jennings, will lead the first workshop on Saturday, February 4 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The workshops will be generative and interactive, so attendees are encouraged to bring their notebooks. Writers of any experience level are welcome, and the series will feature mostly New Orleans writers.

Simon Russell Beale and Eben Figueiredo will return to the Bridge Theatre in Nicholas Hytner's production of A Christmas Carol for four weeks only this December.

AMC+ today released the exclusive trailer and key art for its upcoming limited series, This Is Going To Hurt, a comedy-drama starring Ben Whishaw (A Very English Scandal, No Time to Die, London Spy) based on Adam Kay’s award-winning international bestselling memoir of the same name.

Joining Alex Jennings in Stephen Beresford’s The Southbury Child are Holly Atkins, Josh Finan, Jack Greenlees, Hermione Gulliford, Jo Herbert, Phoebe Nicholls, Racheal Ofori and Sarah Twomey.

AMC+ today released first-look photos of its upcoming limited series, This Is Going To Hurt, a comedy-drama starring Ben Whishaw (A Very English Scandal, No Time to Die, London Spy) based on Adam Kay’s award-winning international memoir of the same name. The series was created, written and executive produced by Kay.

The Audio Publishers Association (APA) have announced finalists for the 2022 Audie Awards. Finalists include Cynthia Erivo for Best Female Narrator and Lin-Manuel Miranda for Best Male Narrator. Leslie Odom Jr., Annie Golden, Telly Leung, and Jason Tam are also featured on audiobooks that made the list. Check out the full list of nominations now!

My Theatre Mates announced that the Chichester Festival Theatre 60th anniversary season is underway. While a full season announcement won't come until February, the first two productions were announced: new plays by Kate Mosse and Alecky Blythe.

Three-time Olivier award-winning Alex Jennings will lead the cast in the world premiere of The Southbury Child, the new play by BAFTA winner Stephen Beresford.  Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the production will play at the Bridge Theatre next summer following an opening run at Chichester Festival Theatre.
