Review: LOU WALL: BREAKING THE FIFTH WALL, Soho Theatre by Kat Mokrynski
- November 17, 2025 Lou Wall: Breaking the Fifth Wall is one of those shows that is difficult to describe (and review!) without giving away the performer’s secrets. Interview: Ardent Theatre Company on Bringing Underrepresented Groups to The London Stage by Gary Naylor
- November 17, 2025 It’s easy to forget that, while we all know that theatres have four walls, they also have two doors. The one we all know has bright lights, glossy playbills, a welcoming foyer and, sometimes, a queue for a bag search, that mark of 21st century life. But where is the other? You guessed it, it’s all a bit on the nose as a metaphor for breaking into theatre as a career.
Review: #FATKARY: THE CORRIDO OF A TRAGIC EX-FAT WOMAN, Playground Theatre by Clementine Scott
- November 17, 2025 You’d be hard pressed to find a more striking opening outfit in a play than #FATKARY: The Corrido of a Tragic Ex-Fat Woman. Clad in something so cartoonish, Gómez encourages us to see her not quite as a real person, but as a caricature or a bogeyman, who can’t quite connect with her audience directly.
