Stars in the House for Ukraine, an 11+ Hour telethon of the weekly streaming show, raised $139,000 for the International Rescue Committee's humanitarian efforts for those affected by the war in Ukraine. That total is inclusive of a generous matching donation by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which matched the first $50,000 worth of donations.

This morning, Brittney Johnson appeared on the Today Show to discuss being the first Black woman to take over the role of Glinda in Wicked on Broadway. Johnson was surprised by original 'Glinda' Kristin Chenoweth, who sent in a congratulatory video message. She also appeared on NBC Nightly News to take viewers backstage at Wicked.

Thank goodness! This evening Brittney Johnson took her first bow as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway! Ms. Johnson is the first Black actress to assume the iconic role. 

Last night, Wicked was one of four beloved musicals to resume performances on Broadway, following a 18-month hiatus. To celebrate the occasion, composer Stephen Schwartz and original Glinda, Kristin Chenoweth, were on hand at the Gershwin Theatre. Watch as Kristin speaks to the crowd, the cast performs their opening number, and takes their first bows since March 2020.

The Today Show anchors celebrated the return of Broadway as they each attended the opening nights of Wicked, Hamilton, and The Lion King. As each attended an opening night, they spoke to the stars of each show before curtain.

Correspondent Tracy Smith talked with Maguire and composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz, and with the original Glinda and Elphaba, Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, about a show that has become a beacon for anyone who doesn't fit a conventional mold.

Wicked has just released a heartfelt new video saluting the frontline workers of the current health crisis, underscored by the show's currents stars, Lindsay Pearce and Ginna Claire Mason. The description reads: 'In honor of every person on the front lines, our WICKED community came together in song and in thanks. You have truly changed us all. For Good.'

New York audiences have been wowed by Emma Hunton's dynamic vocals in SPRING AWAKENING, NEXT TO NORMAL and RENT.

Emma Hunton (Wicked, Next to Normal, Spring Awakening) recently took to the Rockwell stage, performing songs ranging from Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Your Own Way' to Radiohead's 'Creep.' Guest stars included Glee's Lindsay Pearce and Dear John Hughes' Michael Thomas Grant. Grant is currently performing alongside Hunton in 'The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Clueless,' playing now through October 2nd at Rockwell Table and Stage. Hunton honored her Broadway roots with a performance of Spring Awakening's 'Touch Me.'

Performances begin May 15th. Lindsay Pearce is best known for being one of the runners-up on The Glee Project, which gave her a recurring role on the Fox TV show GLEE. In the third season premiere of Glee, Pearce was introduced as Harmony, an ambitious and talented singer who awes characters Kurt and Rachel when they watch her and her group sing a mash-up of 'Anything Goes' from the musical Anything Goes and 'Anything You Can Do' from the musical Annie Get Your Gun.
