Rehearsals have begun and it feels like sha la la for Love in Hate Nation, an original rock romance set in a 1960s Juvie Hall that features book, music and lyrics by Tony Award nominee Joe Iconis, directed by John Simpkins. Love in Hate Nation has music direction and vocal arrangements by Annastasia Victory, music supervision and orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, and choreography by Mayte Natalio. Performances will begin in Two River's Rechnitz Theater, 21 Bridge Avenue, on Saturday, November 9 and continue through Sunday, December 1. The opening night performance is Friday, November 15 at 8pm. Tickets are available from 732.345.1400 or tworivertheater.org.

This year's New York Comic Con hosted a panel featuring cast members and creatives from The Lightning Thief! The panel, titled 'The World of Percy Jackson: From Page to Stage,' was held Thursday, October 3, at 2:45pm in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Room 1A06.

The viral hit musical Be More Chill, with a book by Joe Tracz and music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, plays July 11 through 29, 2019, at Monumental Theatre Company. Be More Chill follows nerdy loner Jeremy, played by Ben Ribler, who ingests a supercomputer called a 'SQUIP' in order to become cool and popular. Jeremy's best friend Michael is played by Christian Montgomery. His love interest, Christine, is played by Monumental newcomer Jyline Carranza. The 'SQUIP' will be played by Caroline Dubberly. The cast of the national tour of The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical brought on the monsters during its June 25th performance as the drama students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School join Chris McCarrell, Kristin Stokes, Jorrel Javier, and more for a special encore performance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Taylor Trensch (Dear Evan Hansen, Hello, Dolly!) dropped by Be More Chill tonight for a curtain call surprise. Taking the stage with composer, Joe Iconis, Trensch (who played the role of Jeremy in the first reading of the show) performed the song, 'A Guy That I'd Kinda Be Into.'

After last night's performance of Be More Chill, the show's composer Joe Iconis took to the stage. He talked about his love for the musical LIttle Shop of Horrors, before bringing back out some members of the cast to do a mashup of that show, with Be More Chill.

After receiving his first Tony nomination for Best Score, Be More Chill composer Joe Iconis and star George Salazar hit the stage tonight for a special post-show encore of the show's anthem, 'Michael In the Bathroom.'
