The 2026 Helen Hayes Award nominations have been announced, recognizing outstanding achievement in Washington-area professional theatre. Arena Stage, Signature Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Round House Theatre, and dozens of regional companies are represented across performance, direction, design, and production categories. The awards highlight the breadth of theatre work presented throughout the D.C. metropolitan area.

Mirvish Productions will present the Canadian premiere of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS in 2026, bringing the beloved novel to the stage in a highly anticipated theatrical adaptation.

Today, Schmigadoon! announced additional members of the production’s Broadway company who will join the previously announced Alex Brightman and Sara Chase. 

The Broadway production of Schmigadoon! will reveal its Broadway cast tomorrow. In a video posted to the show's Instagram, the show confirmed that is will be announcing cast members on Wednesday, February 11, showing the costumes of some characters.

The North American tour of Water for Elephants will play Overture Hall in Madison from June 16–21. Based on the bestselling novel by Sara Gruen, the Broadway musical features a book by Rick Elice and a score by PigPen Theatre Co.

The highly anticipated musical adaptation of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS is set to captivate audiences at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City. This new production brings the beloved novel to life with stunning performances and breathtaking stagecraft. Tickets for the show, which promises to be a major theatrical event, are now on sale.

Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN will hit the road on a National Tour in 2026, helmed by director Matt Lenz. The tour will star Nicholas Carroll and Elizabeth D'Aiuto.

Casting has been announced for the North American Tour of the hit Broadway musical, WATER FOR ELEPHANTS. Based on the critically acclaimed bestselling novel, this engagement will kick off the 25–26 Broadway in Wichita Series.

The North American tour of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS will play The Bushnell in Hartford from June 2–7, 2026. The production, based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling novel, features a book by Rick Elice and music and lyrics by PigPen Theatre Co.
