Robert Price is a BFA playwright in his Sophomore year at The University of Houston.
Robert’s past roles as an actor include: Future in The Trial of Ebeneezer Scrooge, The Sergeant in Mother Courage and Her Children, and Barfee in The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, which earned him a Tommy Tune Award for Best Lead Actor. Robert spent last summer in Chicago taking classes in comedy writing and improvisation at The Second City, and he's a founding member of Phortasics (pronounced "4 to 6"), the long-form improv comedy team that made it to regional finals last year in the College Improv Tournament. He also played Banjo, Guitar and Concertina in The AD Players production of Sanders Family Christmas and he could be seen in Hit Lit, a new play by UH Alum Robert Wuhl. Recently, he became a member of the Beta Theatre's House Improv Team. He is currently performing as Dr. Frank-n-furter in The River Oaks Theater's Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast, The Royal Mystic Order of Chaos.
As a playwright, Robert has studied with Tony Award Winner Mark Medoff, Broadway Performer Keith Byron Kirk, and Dr. Robert Shimko. He has written several One Act Plays, including a Sketch Comedy Show, and a Ten Minute Screenplay. He is currently working on a Full-length show for Dionysus Theater in Houston, and taking Stand-up comedy classes at Beta Theater with John Wessling.
