BIO

She frequently works with Christopher Guest and has appeared in several of his mockumentaries, such as Waiting for Guffman (1996), Best in Show (2000), A Mighty Wind (2003), For Your Consideration (2006), and Mascots (2016). Posey is the recipient of a Golden Globe Award nomination, a Satellite Award nomination and two Independent Spirit Award nominations.
Posey has found continued acclaim on television, starring in Netflix’s Lost in Space (2018–2021) and HBO Max’s The Staircase (2022). In 2025, she garnered widespread praise for her performance as Victoria Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3, a role she had long wanted after hoping for years to work with creator Mike White. That same year, she received the inaugural Legend Tribute at the Gotham Television Awards, honoring her longevity and singular impact across decades of storytelling. Outside of acting, Posey is also the author of the 2018 memoir You’re on an Airplane, praised for its whimsical, collage-like style and witty, self-mythologizing tone.
