Matthew Steffens is a NYC based director, choreographer, performer and educator. Previous credits include Broadway/Off Broadway: Doctor Zhivago, Queen of the Night (Drama Desk Award),SUPERHERO, Pretty Hunger (Public Theater), Bountiful (R.Evolucion Latina), BC BEAT. Regional directing/choreographing credits include: Violet, Guys & Dolls, 9 to 5, A Christmas Carol, Hairspray, A Chorus Line, The Legend of Georgia McBride, Joseph. Theaters include the Guthrie Theater, Playmakers Repertory Company, Mountain Playhouse, Axelrod PAC as well as internationally in China on the original Chinese musical Princess Butterfly. As a performer he has appeared on Broadway in Promises, Promises, Women on the Verge and has danced, fought and flown his way through 17 operas at the Metropolitan Opera.
