Entertainer Rob Russell, aka Mr. Palm Beach entered a room full of cheering music devotees at Cafe Centro last night and hosted the unofficial start of the Cabaret season at the popular Palm Beach dinner/music venue. Check out photos here!

The sold-out audience in West Palm Beach, Florida, was treated to an inspiring evening, highlighting everything that puts the “Great” in the Great American Songbook.

“Direct from Carnegie Hall…..”  that oft used introduction was never more accurately applied then it was last night for Marilyn Maye as she was presented by Legends Radio at it’s Benefactors Gala Celebrating “Legendary Ladies”.

Dave Lawrence, President & CEO of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, said that around 120 sip-and-chat fans attended this season’s final CULTURE & COCKTAILS held on March 6 in the beautiful rooftop ballroom of The Ben in downtown West Palm Beach. Check out photos here!

It didn’t take long for the new Cabaret Series at Cafe Centro produced by Sandy Fisher to have diva Carole Bufford added to it’s performance line-up of celebrity vocalists.  Ms. Bufford’s career, once designated as “most likely to succeed” in a New York Times review has certainly lived up to that critic’s expectations.  

Dave Lawrence, President & CEO of the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, promises that this season's final CULTURE & COCKTAILS will be particularly zesty. The informative and fun event will again be held in the beautiful rooftop ballroom of The Ben in downtown West Palm Beach.

There have been many successful launches in Florida but the  musical lift off last night at Cafe Centro (which is Palm Beach's ground zero for live entertainment) had many stars.   Rob Russell’s Open Mic Series made it’s debut and his line-up of singers ignited an evening of diverse singing styles.

Coming Next Monday: Master Showman Rob Russell, who is widely recognized as “Mr. Palm Beach,” will be launching a new monthly musical series starting February 6 at Café Centro, located at 2409 N. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.

As part of its ArtSmart Lecture Series, the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will present a revealing conversation between author Susan Shapiro Barash and singer Jill Switzer. The telltale topic: A Passion for More: Affairs that Make or Break Us.

Arts Garage will host a book-signing and discussion of The Contemporary Singer's Blueprint: From Amateur to Professional and Beyond written by popular cabaret star Jill Switzer. The fun and informative event will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, November 10, starting with a live musical performance by Jill & Rich Switzer.
