With an approach that returns to the comic origins that inspired it, Don Giovanni will feature elements of the circus and clowning, placing the protagonist as a kind of illusionist of his romantic interests. The opera will have stage direction by Hugo Possolo, and musical direction by Roberto Minczuk.

According to reports, actress Dale Dickey will be joining the cast of the Max comedy Bookies in a recurring role. She is set to play the mother of Andrea Anders' character Sandra in the series. Dickey is a character actress who has appeared in numerous roles across film, television and the stage. She appeared on Broadway in a 1989 production of The Merchant of Venice in addition to many other regional roles.
