To close out their 2018-2019 season Rochester's Geva Theatre chose a piece with deep historical, musical, and local significance. Revival: The Resurrection of Son House was commissioned by Geva in 2015 and received a staged reading that year at their festival 'Journey to the Son: A Celebration of Son House.' The fully-staged production is now getting its world premiere, and it's the perfect capstone to a season rich with history, diverse voices, and new works.
Rising Star Competition Announces Performers Advancing to Week 3 8/16

After a tremendously successful first season, Rise Bar's talent contest returns! The new summer installment will be on TUESDAY nights!
The RISING STAR competition began Tuesday August 2nd. Singers compete in an 8 week elimination style contest for a $1000 cash prize and a fully produced, paid solo show at Rise. In addition to the cash and prize package, RISING STAR offers networking opportunities with celebrity judges, fantastic exposure, and valuable live stage experience.
The top 12 finalists were chosen from over 60 auditionees and at least 2 will go home this week.

'Broadway Up, Guns Down' is charity benefit concert in response to the tragic mass shooting that occurred at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Tonight, June 27th, at 8pm, Broadway artists will unite to uplift through song honoring the beautiful lives lost. All funds raised will go directly to the Zebra Coalition in Orlando, FL. A LGTBQ youth based non-for-profit currently offering assistance in Orlando.
