The Television Academy has denied Apple's petition to move Schmigadoon! to the scripted variety category for the 2023 Emmy Awards. Apple had submitted Schmigadoon's second season in the scripted variety series category, after previously being placed in comedy series for season one.

Jonathan Groff has joined the new season of Doctor Who in a 'mysterious' key role. Groff will join RuPaul's Drag Race and recent Chicago breakout star Jinkx Monsoon in the new series. Monsoon will be playing a villain, alongside Ncuti Gatwa, the new Doctor, and Yasmin Finney.
