(06/21/2017) - Last week, Broadway Dreams hosted a star-studded musical theatre master class and summer intensive.  The annual weeklong intensive welcomed aspiring young performers from throughout New York to embark on a rigorous week of Broadway-caliber training -focusing on acting, vocal performance and dance - learning from the brightest and best industry professionals.

(06/21/2017) - Tony Danza is the 'Peoples Choice' not only because he won that award (among many).  He is also the choice for hundreds of New York City kids for whom he is a role model  in his capacity as Board Member of the NYC Police Athletic League (PAL).  Tony recently launched PAL's first acting program under the philosophy  'when you teach a kid how to act, you teach them how to act.' Alongside PAL's other athletic, academic, and artistic programs, the Acting Program has become an instant favorite.  Last night students were showcased in their stage debut at the Gerald w. Lynch Theater in Manhattan in a variety show which was developed over the last few months.

(06/13/2017) - NEXT STOP celebrated the end of its limited engagement at the Broadway Comedy Club with a special performance and party hosted by WeWork Bryant Park (54 W 40th Street) on Monday, June 12, 2017.  The evening, which included cocktails and delectable food inspired by the show from celebrity chef Einat Admony (Taim, Bar Bolonat, Balaboosta), was an opportunity for invited industry guests to learn more about the show and its next steps.

(06/13/2017) - There is no place like New York!  With a city this rich in culture, scandal and diversity, the possibilities for theatrical reenactment are endless.  The Players Theatre Short Play and Musical Festival and Be Bold! Productions encourage playwrights to mine this precious resource by offering an annual NYC - themed festival each June.  Celebrating its 7th year, "Only in New York" opens Thursday, June 8 and runs for three weeks.  Each week four/five original short plays or musicals, by a variety of playwrights (including one high school student) will be presented with a "Best of the Week" production will being selected by audience vote.

(06/11/2017) - Tin Pan Alley on 28th street in Manhattan was where many songs were composed in the early 20th century.  Young composers like George Gershwin wrote many of the tunes we are still singing today.  Now, a lot of the creative music and lyrics are coming out of William Finn's Master Class at The NYU Tisch Graduate Program in Musical Theatre Writing.  Instead of these young songwriters displaying there work on the cheap upright pianos that gave Tin Pan Alley it's name, Mr. Finn who is also the Artistic Head of the Musical Theatre Lab at Barrington Stage Company  puts on a show on Barrington's Main Stage in PIttsfield Massachusetts.

(06/08/2017) - Urban Stages' Board of Directors and founding artistic director Frances Hill presented the 2017 Urban Stages' Lifetime Achievement Award to Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award-winning legendary set and costume designer Tony Walton.  The celebrated Broadway, TV and film star,  Melissa Errico, ("Billions", My Fair Lady, High Society, Encores' Do I Hear a Waltz?), presented the award to her mentor and close friend, Tony Waltonat the annual benefit at the Boathouse in Central Park.

We accomplish this mission through fully-staged productions, writing contests and staged readings, film screenings, and special events. We foster long term relationships with artists to create programming that is as diverse, unique, and complex as the community we represent. In 2015, Huffington Post called PFP "A powerful and empowering entity." The company acquired its two performance spaces at 4139 and 4147 N. Broadway in July 2016, renaming the spaces the Pride Arts Center.
