Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Joan Osborne returns to Café Carlyle, February 25 - March 7. Joan Osborne is a multi-platinum recording artist whose career was jumpstarted with the great success of her major label debut album, Relish. The album produced the massive MTV and international smash single, 'One of Us.' The New York Times praised her Café Carlyle debut stating that 'at every point in the evening, you had a sense of Ms. Osborne as an artist who knew exactly what she was doing,' and describing her as a 'fiercely intelligent, no-nonsense singer-songwriter.'

Last night in the heart of the Theatre District, Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, hosted its annual New York City Benefit, BSC/NYC to celebrate its 25th Anniversary Season. The annual event raised $110K for Barrington Stage's Julianne Boyd New Works Fund. The one-night only cabaret took place at the The Green Room 42.

NiCori Studios & Productions is proud to announce the Fourth Annual Winter Gala on Friday, December 6 at 7pm at the The Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Montclair.  Scheduled to perform are Linda Purl (Broadway's Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Television's Happy Days, Matlock, The Office, Homeland and Designated Survivor), Nicolas King (Broadway's Beauty and the Beast, Worldwide Entertainer as Liza Minnelli's opening act for 10 years), Justin Matthew Sargent (Broadway's Spiderman, Turn Off The Dark, Rock of Ages and Bonnie and Clyde), David LaMarr (International Headliner for Disney, Carnival and Princess Cruise lines).  All performers are subject to change.

The festival, which began in 1999, has featured many talented musicians over the years who embody the gypsy jazz style of music by the great Django Reinhardt. Of these was guitarist Dorado Schmitt.

Friend Ron Abel, one of the music industry's preeminent pianists/ arranger/music directors in his heads up to me about this artist said …“Sometimes you get lucky. You get to work with a smart actress whose ability to understand a lyric translates to her being able to take the song to a place that people haven't heard before. And then, she has the vocal range and ability to take it that one step further.” That folks is Lianne Marie Dobbs who while new to me is well known by cabaret enthusiasts.
