Showtime Documentary Films today announced it will premiere the new documentary HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN from directors Benjamin and Gabe Turner (Class of 92, I Am Bolt, One Direction: This Is Us) on Saturday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The remarkable story of the legendary Motown Records is told through new and exclusive interviews with the label's visionary founder, Berry Gordy, and many of its superstar artists and creative figures, as well as rare performances and behind-the-scenes footage unearthed from Motown's vaults and Gordy's personal archives. HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN is the first documentary about the iconic label with Gordy's participation.

World Music Institute (WMI) prepares to celebrate its 34th year in NYC with a fresh roster of global artists for the FallWinter 2019-2020 Season

Hear the music. Save the world. The non-profit humanitarian organization TEEEM.org presents Bergenfest, a benefit concert run by students that is full of music and fun for the family. TEEEM works with Bergen County high school students to provide medical care, economic empowerment, food and education to communities in in the developing world. Headlining the concert will be We McDonald of Paterson, NJ, who drew national attention on NBC's The Voice along with local bands playing throughout the day. Bergenfest will be held at the Benjamin Franklin Middle School, 335 North Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood NJ on Saturday June 29th, from 12-7pm. There will be food trucks, games, arts and crafts and face painting. It is a day of fun for the whole family. Tickets can be purchased online at http:teeem.org. BBC AMERICA is gearing up for a Wild Summer, kicking off Saturday, June 29 with Wild Life Week – a full week of the network's celebrated natural history programming, including the Emmy®-winning Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II, as well as the premiere of Enchanted Kingdom, narrated by Idris Elba, closing out the week on Saturday, July 6 at 9pm/8c. Tesfa Ethiopia is a non profit organization committed to helping students in Ethiopia secure basic school supplies. Many of these students walk up to an hour to go to school and they do not have access to pens, pencils, uniforms, and other essential supplies. The nonprofit is organizing Charlotte's first Ethiopian Cultural Event in order to raise funds for these students. The event will have a free outdoor area with food and activities for families. The inside of the event requires a $10 ticket purchase and will have music, activities, and an exhibit on Ethiopia. The festival will take place at Midwood International and Cultural Center located at 1817 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC, 28205. It is open to the public starting at 12PM and ending at 6PM. In the outdoor area there will be a bounce house and other fun activities for kids. There will also be authentic Ethiopian food available for purchase along with cotton candy and funnel cakes. Inside the auditorium there is an exhibit about Ethiopia along with a DJ that will play Ethiopian music. There will also be performances by students including a play and fashion show. The event is sponsored by Sindu Trucking, Kumon, Enat Ethiopian Restaraunt, Carolinas Group, Abyssinia Soccer Team, Abugida Cafe, Kera Market, Amhara Association of America, Carolinas Realty Group, Nile Grocery, and Our Bridge for kids.
