The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces a week of free Millennium Stage performances that pay tribute to the 2019 Kennedy Center Honorees. Events include a film screening in honor of Sally Field (December 3), a Michael Tilson Thomas tribute concert (December 4 at 8 p.m.; note alternate time), a showcase of Linda Ronstadt's most beloved songs (December 5), The Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band (December 6), and a sing-along in honor of Sesame Street (December 7).

Much loved songwriters Amanda McBroom and John Bucchino will appear together on stage for the very first time in New York City on Dec.16th at the legendary Birdland Jazz. The show is titled a?oeSweet Dreams and Roses,a?? with a repertoire of mainly their own compositions, including some they wrote as a team.

The American Songbook Association Gala honoring Sheldon Harnick will be a star studded fundraiser benefiting the ASA and its ambition to preserve and share the great songs of this country.

Al Roker, Deborah Roberts, Clive Davis, Brenda Vaccaro, and Michael Riedel among others were in the club for this exciting opening night.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series presented singer/pianist Steve Ross in “Songs I Love” last night. Steve looked back at his long career and revisited songs from his first recording (1979) and his more recent efforts celebrating Alan Jay Lerner, Noel Coward and Stephen Sondheim. KT Sullivan who is currently appearing with Steve at the Irish Repertory Theatre in LOVE, NOEL: The Songs and Letters of Noel Coward (written and devised by Barry Day) joined Steve for a few songs.
