Production photos have been released for La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and McCoy Rigby Entertainment’s revival of SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET, now running through February 22, 2026, at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.

The Muny has selected the seven teams of directors, choreographers, music directors and lead designers whose creative visions will shape the Tony Award-winning theatre’s 2026 season in Forest Park.

The Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs launches rePLAY, a new script-in-hand performance series benefiting the historic venue. The series opens with The Importance of Being Earnest (in New York), adapted and directed by David Zippel and featuring a Tony Award–winning cast.

I decided to speak with its two stars, Will Swenson and Lesli Margherita about the challenges faced during their journeys to taking on Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett and how working with Director Jason Alexander for the La Mirada production has inspired them to bring these two iconic characters to life.

Drama Desk Award nominee John Ortiz (Jesus Hopped the A Train), three-time Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht (Eureka Day) and SAG Award nominee Spencer Garrett (Once Upon A Time in Hollywood) will join Emmy Award winner Jon Bernthal and two-time Emmy Award winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach in DOG DAY AFTERNOON.

Will Swenson and Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita star as Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett, respectively, in Stephen Sondheim’s SWEENEY TODD at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. In a newly released video, Margherita discusses stepping into the role of Mrs. Lovett, the pragmatic pie shop proprietor at the center of Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Tony Award–winning musical.

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) kicks off the new year with the regional premiere drama Where We Stand by Donnetta Lavinia Grays. Directed by Candice Handy, Where We Stand takes the stage  January 31–February 22, 2026.
