Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced that Nick Choksi as 'Dr. Grover Lockwood,' Holley Fain as 'Anita Highland,' Richard Kind as 'Max Jacobs,' Michael Mulheren as 'Conductor,' and Raji Ahsan, Franklin Bongjio, Daniel Fredrick and Evan Powell as the 'Porters' have joined the one-night-only benefit reading of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's comedy Twentieth Century, in a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig, directed by Walter Bobbie. They join the previously announced Alec Baldwin as 'Oscar Jaffe,' Anne Heche as 'Lily Garland,' Henry Winkler as 'Matthew Clark,' Dan Butler as 'Owen O'Malley,' Stephen DeRosa as 'First Beard,' Julie Halston as 'Ida Webb,' and Paul Alexander Nolan as 'George Smith.'

Next Monday, April 29 at 54 Below, Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) and friends are coming together to celebrate the 2019 ASTEP Color Ball. The 2019 Color Ball is a night to honor Artists/Activists who inspire ASTEP students, Sponsors who make our work possible and Community Partners who join our efforts in giving children from underserved communities access to the power of the arts. The evening is conceived by Broadway Musical Director Mary-Mitchell Campbell (ASTEP Founder and Co-Executive Director) and will allow ASTEP to give audience members an in depth look into our programs and the exciting work we have ahead of us.

Today in Times Square, famed Q104 classic rock radio host Jim Kerr climbed out onto the marquee of Hard Rock Cafe to announce that the five-time Tony Award-nominated musical ROCK OF AGES will return to the New York stage this summer in a special 10th Anniversary Production at New World Stages (340 W 50th St). To mark the announcement, and the milestone anniversary, he was joined by alumni from throughout the musical's Broadway run, who performed 'Don't Stop Believin' live above Times Square. The return production of the musical - produced by Michael Cohl/S2BN Entertainment in association with Barry Habib, Scott Prisand/Seth Fass, Tony Smith, and Randi Zuckerberg/Mara Burros-Sandler - begins performances on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, for a 16-week limited engagement through Sunday, September 29, 2019. The hosts of the next Waitress London Cast Album Karaoke Night have been announced today. Laura Baldwin, who plays Dawn in the show, will host the post-show event alongside actress Chizzy Akudolu (Holby City, Strictly Come Dancing) on Wednesday 8 May. Audience members can sign up before the show for the chance to sing one minute of any song from Waitress - live on stage at the Adelphi and accompanied by the show's musical director Katharine Woolley.

Eric Woodall has a long history with North Carolina Theatre; as an actor, teacher, and director. As a high school student, he performed in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and GEORGE M! at NC Theatre. After successful years on stage and television, Eric returned to NC Theatre in the late 90's to direct and help cultivate the existing Summer Theatre Arts School program into the NC Theatre Conservatory. For the past 16 years, Eric worked as one of New York's top casting directors in the office of Tara Rubin Casting. Through casting and developing new musicals, Eric has been lucky enough to work alongside Stephen Sondheim, Cameron Mackintosh, William Finn, Sir Richard Eyre, Stephen Daldry, Susan Stroman, Stephen Schwartz, Casey Nicholaw, James Lapine, Phyllida Lloyd, and Hal Prince. A few of his Broadway casting credits include SUNSET BOULEVARD, ALADDIN, FALSETTOS, LES MISERABLES, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, BILLY ELLIOT, MARY POPPINS, THE LITTLE MERMAID, and MAMMA MIA! (Broadway, National tour). Past NC Theatre directorial credits include MAMMA MIA!, GYPSY, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, MARY POPPINS, BILLY ELLIOT, DRIVING MISS DAISY, and STEEL MAGNOLIAS. Other directing credits include NEXT TO NORMAL, WEST SIDE STORY, BIG RIVER, ON GOLDEN POND (Casa Manana); BIG FISH, THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, PARADE, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, and VIOLET (Theatre Raleigh); AMADEUS (Memphis' Playhouse on the Square), and HAY FEVER (Playmakers Repertory). As a guest lecturer, Eric has taught at universities and training programs around the country including NYU, Baldwin Wallace, and Elon. Internationally, Eric was invited to lead workshops in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia through Actors Equity of Australia. Last year, American Theatre named Eric one of the 'People You Should Watch' in its 'Role Call: Six Theatre Workers You Should Know' series. Eric is a drama graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and is a member of SDC and CSA.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center just held its Monte Cristo Award Gala last night at the Edison Ballroom- an event that featured opening remarks from composer, actor and Tony Award-winner, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
