Over 450 alumni, donors and supporters gathered at St. Ann's Warehouse on Monday night for the NYU Tisch School of the Arts 2019 Gala, honoring notable alumni Susan Kelechi Watson and Sharon Chang. The event featured several performances by current Tisch students in tribute to the two honorees. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and Martin Scorsese served as honorary co-chairs for the evening. In attendance were NYU Tisch Dean Allyson Green, NYU Provost Katherine Fleming, Grammy Award-winning music executive Clive Davis and Tony Award-winning actress Phylicia Rashad. Nearly $1 million was raised to support critical needs of talented Tisch students.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM), considered throughout the industry as the definitive home of classic film and the leading authority on the genre, will celebrate its 25th anniversary on April 14th, 2019. Over the past 25 years, the iconic network has offered movie lovers cinematic treasures that highlight the entire spectrum of film history, uncut and commercial-free. To celebrate its silver anniversary, TCM will present an extensive on-air programming salute throughout the entire month of April showcasing popular programing from the TCM vault including six TCM originally produced specials such as Robert Osborne's Best of Private Screenings and Live From The TCM Classic Film Festival: Norman Lloyd, as well as airing double features of The Best of The Essentials. Additionally, the network will air a two-week special primetime tribute with 25 of TCM's biggest fans joining TCM Host Ben Mankiewicz as guest programmers with on-air dedications of their favorite films. The network will also launch an exclusive 25thanniversary merchandise collection featuring original archival artwork reflecting the legacy of TCM as well a commemorative 25thanniversary wine through the TCM Wine Club.

American soprano Denise Young will appear in recital, Wednesday evening, May 1, 2019, 7:30 pm at SubCulture (45 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10012). She will perform works from her 2018 album, Denise Young, Soprano, with pianist Daric V. Jackson, bassist Noah Garabedian, drummer Leon Joyce Jr., and vocals John James and Lajuan Carter-Dent. The program will include Songs of Form, co-composed by Ms. Young and pianist Thomas Nickell, featuring words of Ralph Waldo Emerson and James Baldwin, which just received its world premiere at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in April 2019.

The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University 2019 Repertory Season opened its second week of exciting and challenging theater productions withLila on the Wall by Edward Allan Baker and Beached by Bernie DeLeo. The season features the work of the graduating MFA Acting and Directing students who collaborate on professionally produced productions presented at the ASDS Repertory Theater in downtown Manhattan.

Critically-acclaimed actors Andr Holland and Phylicia Rashad visit 92Y's Unterberg Poetry Center on Thursday, May 23 at 7:30 pm for a dramatic reading of Toni Morrison's new book, The Source of Self-Regard: Selected Essays, Speeches, and Meditations. The actors will read selections of the book curated by Morrison scholar and Columbia University professor Farah Jasmine Griffin, which 92Y has commissioned for the event.

Wake up! Bill Posley has a stunner of a story to tell, and although comedy may not resolve his existential crisis, it's a trip well worth taking with him at Soho Playhouse. Witty, fearless and 'woke as f***,' Posley describes (and often reenacts) parts of his lived experience as a biracial man in search of his identity: too black for white people, not black enough for black people. His anecdotes, amusing in their own right, are also the kind of antidote that our racially fractured country needs right now.

SINCERELY OSCAR is the latest addition to the Off Broadway musical scene, celebrating one of Broadway's greatest lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein. With a book by Doreen Taylor, who also stars along with Azudi Onyejekwe, this show/musical revue takes you through some of the most fantastic and iconic songs associated with Mr. Hammerstein, and a few more deep cuts from shows of which you might not know.

Bobby Moresco (Producer) Bobby is an Academy Award-winning writer, director and producer, hailing from Hell's Kitchen, New York. In 2007, Moresco received an Oscar for co-writing the feature film 'CRASH'. Other features include, Academy Award-winner 'MILLION DOLLAR BABY' and '10TH & WOLF', starring James Marsden, which was his directorial debut. Moresco's TV credits include 'EZ Streets', 'Falcone', 'The Black Donnellys', and a soon TBA Comedy Special with Colin Quinn.

This show explores the fascinating ways jazz and film have come together to tell stories.The playlist includes "Taking a Chance on Love" from Vernon Duke's Cabin in the Sky, "Let's Face the Music and Dance" from Irving Berlin's Follow the Fleet, "This Time the Dream's on Me," from Harold Arlen's Blues in the Night, and "As Time Goes By," the Herman Hupfeld classic from Casablanca.

London's (via Limerick) premiere indie songsmiths, whenyoung have announced theywill be releasing their debut album, Reasons to Dream, through Virgin EMI on May 24.

Audiences have ten weeks to catch the critically-acclaimed Katharine McPhee in the West End production of Waitress. The Smash and Scorpion actress will play her final performance on Saturday 15 June with new casting for the role of Jenna to be announced soon. The Tony-nominated musical by Sara Bareilles began performances at the Adelphi Theatre on 8 February and is now booking to Saturday 19 October.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced that Dan Butler as 'Owen O'Malley,' Stephen DeRosa as 'First Beard,' Julie Halston as 'Ida Webb,' Paul Alexander Nolan as 'Dr. Grover Lockwood,' and Henry Winkler as 'Matthew Clark' have joined the one-night-only benefit reading of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's comedy Twentieth Century, in a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig, directed by Walter Bobbie. They join the previously announced Emmy, Golden Globe & SAG Award winner and Oscar & Tony Award nominee Alec Baldwin as 'Oscar Jaffe' and Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Anne Heche as 'Lily Garland.'

Arthur Miller's All My Sons begins preview performances tonight, April 4, 2019, and opens officially on Monday, April 22, 2019.

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team as comic playwright Ken Ludwig, who delighted Globe audiences with Robin Hood! and Baskerville, returns with a hilarious world premiere: Ken Ludwig's The Gods of Comedy, directed by Amanda Dehnert (West Side Story at Carnegie Hall, world premieres of Kate Hamill's Pride and Prejudice and Ludwig's Baskerville). Presented in association with McCarter Theatre Center, The Gods of Comedy will run May 11 - June 16, 2019 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, opening on May 16. The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 19 categories - and bestowed one special award - for the 34th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00pm EST. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.
